Good on Brendon doing the style he wants and not pandering to the masses or his fan base. He's just being himself and embracing it and I totally respect that. It's not as if the songs are bad.. They're in all honesty just fine and pretty cool. He's paying homage to his favorite artists. He's earned that creative freedom, for sure.
This song fucking sucks
I honestly can't decide if I like it or not. This album is so different from Brendon's other music and that's what makes it great but at the same time, it's hard to get into the newer stuff because it's so not what we're used to.
To be fair He's always been a bit experimental with the sound. Pretty Odd especially (though I know that's a few people) in comparison.

@@renwinchester4465 if you can, try not to think of it as a P!aTD album. This will help to set aside any preconceived ideas about what it's supposed to sound like. I got this idea from a comment I just saw and it makes so much sense to me.
Also, I agree with matt. Each album has a different sound. Sometimes it takes a bit to get used to. I didn't like pftw at first, but I'd find myself humming some of the songs. It totally grew on me and I love it now. Brendon kind of gives us fans whiplash with how much he changes the sound between albums. Which is awesome when you think about it, bc he's so versatile and we'll never get bored.
Hope you're able to enjoy the album. Even if you don't, go to the concert if you can. He always plays a lot of older stuff and covers. Plus, all music sounds better live; as long as the vocalist knows how to sing.
Give it a year or so, it will grow on you.

Been listening to him for years, that’s what makes him unique if you don’t like this album then wait because even in 2022 after 18 years he’s always popping out new awesome songs on top of the fact he’s still relevant in today’s society.
@@dixiecook2201 of course! That’s the song that made me love the band as well, Brendon will never make bad music, just music we need to learn to love, he swore to never stay the same but as fans we swore to love everything he puts out even if it takes a while

I'm loving the Thin Lizzy "Boys are Back in Town" nod on the verses. So fun to hear his remixing of old classic styles. Lots of Billy Joel influence in this one too.

The great thing about P!ATD is that every album has its own unique sound. There’s something for everyone. Even albums that aren’t your favorite style are still good. This song is fire.
THIS RIGHT HERE. I totally agree that's why P!ATD has always been my favorite band it's always different for the albums and that's what I (as you said) love about them. I just wish ppl would give it a listen...😢

I agree. But this album in particular has so many different sounds. It's almost like he is doing a history of rock n roll in this album. Don't let the light go out and Middle of a Break Upstarts us off in the 50s, Viva Las Vengence from the 60s, Sad Clown from the 70s version of queen, and this song brings us to the 80s/90s. I feel like I just heard a song that sounded very Fall Out Boy-like, but I don't remember the name. But that would bring it full circle.
I 110% agree like my favorite album was vices and virtues but all his albums I love like me personally wasn't much of a fan of Pretty. Odd. But I still love it

Love hearing his songs about Vegas. I grew up here and loved his music since I was in middle school and it was super cool that I attended the same middle and high school as him. My friends and I would hang out at the Meadows mall all the time and have friends who live in Summerlin (go to parties in summerlin also in my hs days). I can’t wait to see him in concert here soon♥️
