Besides, he sang, "I am telling you"...much better than she ever could...so done with her and her shenanigans.

Israel and David really performed amazing together; anybody could see that...What a missed opportunity to keep them both and make them thrive as a duo! The only thing this partnership would have brought, was reciprocal challenge after challenge. You don't become better unless you get out of your comfort zone and work with other champions. On a side note, Jennifer Hudson asked for trouble, she got it.
Israel was the most talented one. I believe Jennifer did not chose him because the black people the winners of those type of shows never achieved the status of the losers. Lol. The black people always made it to the top ten and the finally.
They always chose a country western singer. The best winner was Kelly Clarkson.

And Jennifer acknowledged that fact when she mentioned how Jennifer Holiday had done everything humanly possible to that song and she wasn't sure that she could contribute anything new to the song for the DreamGirls soundtrack. But it's Jennifer Hudson's version that Israel knows best, so I think that's what he meant by calling it Jennifer Hudson's song.
