No but sis, Catherine went on her most recent podcast interview on Shiikane podcast, and she said this year they actually switched it up in Casa Amor. Where they told the casa islander who to talk to and to stick to that person. Catherine even said she was the only one being encouraged by the producers to recouple. I feel that Catherine came in with a huge desirability energy that the producers weren't ready to accept from a dark skinned woman. This year was the first year in British Love Island history where the men wanted and liked dark skinned women and the typical blonde haired blue eyed women didn't understand.

Yes. Love Island UK *won't* allow a BW to win. Love Island USA has had five seasons and two BW winners. Love Island UK is on its *tenth* season, and they *still* had to sabotage a wonderful contestant like Whitney. Its time for me to hang that show up...

Unfortunately, BW don’t seem to grasp the point that they’re helping create a negative perception of themselves but constantly hashing and rehashing this topic. It’s draws the wrong kind of attention because it makes them look really insecure and jealous of other women. It makes men think that dating BW is going to be a lot of work and come with a lot of drama. Men just don’t want to deal with that. Love the coverage!
I agree with everything you said with the below questions on my mind. Just food for thought 🤷🏽‍♀️
#1- Whitney should’ve won!!!!! I do wonder if the UK producers messed with the results or what if the UK viewers are mainly white and felt they had more of a connection with Dysfunctional Sammy and Jess? I mean if every black UK viewer voted for Whit but only count as 30% of the viewers Whit had no chance.
#2 - We as black women are fully aware we are not the stereotypical dating preference. So that’s not news. Every season I’m aware the black girls going to struggle in a sea of white guys and girls to get picked. What casting can do is stalk the cast social media for a more diverse dating history to even the field. None of this saves the show if over produced. They need to stop that. Let people pick who they want!
#3 casting - In America we are at a disadvantage in numbers alone. If 75 of America is white the cast is going to be white heavy. Just makes sense🤷🏽‍♀️. Also they can only pick from who’s willing to be in the show. So they have even less of a pool of black, asian etc people to choose from in the first place.

Can we take a moment to ask ourselves, why are we forcing YT people on a YT people dating show to date us? No other race dates out as much as we do, so why do we expect to be first choice for other races? For our community, we have to deal with colorism from our men and as a result a lot of BM and BW have to date out - this is not the case for everyone else. We keep thinking that the other races are as open as us, but what if its not an automatic for everyone to date someone outside their own race.

One thing I don't understand was Leah was shit on. Abi was shit on. Hell, even Mitch was shit on all season. Hell, they even ragged on Jess' looks a lot. Is that racism? I think Ty and Ella not winning is about white people outnumbering black people (and racism). Why should Whitney have won? Her and lochan werent even exclusive until the episode before the finale. Everyone said Catherine was gorgeous all season. I think some of these points are a reach.
They said Scott wasn't in to Abi as well! Scott is dead in the eyes! He didn't seem into her. Or anyone.

No honey you where just one of the people that hated on Catherine for daring to explore someone like elom unlike beautiful man Scott because they 100 percent showed Scott telling Catherine that they were done and she was confused and went into defence mode when the first thing Scott did after she came in was attack her character by implying she was the game player ofcourse she would want to defend herself..... especially when she didn't do anything technically wrong since he didn't close things completely. They were both very wrong. She told Scott she didn't have enough time to know if elom was an actual connection so she brought him to villa but Scott freaked and ended things immediately

    • @lez2884
      @lez2884 Před 11 měsíci +8

It is like everyone ignores that was shown on the episode. Scott attacked her first and then broke it off with her immediately. She tried to explain that just wanted to explore the connection like he has done with several women. The public and the producers did Catherine dirty. They were giving her death threats on twitter. UK will never have a black woman because of the bias and prejudice of the public. Black women in the Uk turned on Catherine.

    • @angelastanley2966

Elom just wanted in the villa. He had been watching and came in with the love bombing for that purpose only as evidenced by him saying, he wanted to get to know bombshells (that hadn't even entered the villa) and their "relationship" ended as soon as they got back to London. Scott has said none of the girls wowed him like Catherine so he wasn't really trying during Casa. And even though they are just friends now he still lights up when he's around her or just talking about her. Scott ended it with Catherine when they were talking right after she came back and he asked her if she kissed dude outside of challenges, she said Yes and he said it's over. Pride of course and he says that pride and hurt made him act that way. But they made up and were hanging out before Cath left but they never showed that part.

I think people just see racism where there isn’t any. They equate their hurt feelings to racism when it’s literally not that. Whitney and Lochan were cute and she carried the season but the vote is for the best couple, and they just weren’t that. She was not even on Lochans list when he went into Casa and they started talking on the last day, ofc people thought it wasn’t as genuine. And for the Scott and Catherine situation, we did see Scott end it after Casa. They showed that part. And the Islanders saying he wasn’t attracted to her was because they see things we don’t see as viewers. If you watch LIUSA, you’ll see he’s not actually a slow burner when he’s attracted to someone, he was smitten with Johnny. They didn’t show Cat and Scott because there literally wasn’t much to show. Even Cat said after he closed off with her he still went back and forth with her and Leah, they never showed that part. They wanted us to think it was more serious than it was for this exact reason. That’s why when they came out and found out they were stanned, they played into it for clout because they were shook. They didn’t understand why they were stanned bc they weren’t ever that serious. People just project onto these shows and end up getting their feelings hurt, and they consider that to be racism.

    (3) black women demanding for "more diversity" in reality shows/ dating shows
you black women better be careful of what you are demanding for because "more diversity" ... technically speaking.... it will mean fewer blacks on dating shows and reality shows in general.
    why?
because more asians, more arabs, more native americans, more latinos, etc will be added leaving fewer and lesser slots in the cast for blacks.
next thing you know blacks will complain in uproar rac-ism and color-ism yet they are literally the same people who demanded for it aka "more diversity".
i wonder what she would complain about when other non-white/ non-black women are added to the cast and they get the attention? ... will she still attack the shows for "lack of diversity"?
