      Hi Vincent, thank you for these awesome videos loaded with valuable information - especially for younger individuals! This is kind of weird and I don't want to criticize your work at all. I just wanted to give a little insight from a viewer's angle. Because you are speaking at a pretty quick speed, the music in the background makes it hard to digest everything you are saying. It's a lot for the brain to break down all at once, as it is a bit distracting from the overall point Maybe it's just me too lol! Anyway, we appreciate your advice.

    Grew up poor, and saw my friends achieving the things I wanted earlier like going to Medical school, getting a masters, and even thinking about marriage. I used to be so envious of that really kick myself for that. I am 27 now and still not achieving those things while my friends are about to become doctors and lawyers or just doing well. Until I came to a realization, some people have access and some don't. I grew up in a house where abuse was normal, I to this day sleep in the living room cause my house doesn't accommodate everyone and I want to keep peace for others, I share a car with my parent and while I am thankful for the things I do have, I also understand that sometimes hardwork is 20% of your success because 80% is having the right accommodations to be able to do that work

Growing up, I was so ashamed of the mobile home I lived in. I would never invite friends over. I moved out on my own at 23. I always knew I was destined for more. I started my own business and now make well over 6 figures by myself, and I only have an AA degree. . You have to pave your own way and you have to really want it to make it out of poverty. The sad reality is that behind the scenes there’s instances of domestic violence, dependence of some kind or family troubles. Nobody is perfect. I’m happy where I am and I enjoy spending time with the wife and kids. We may not be driving brand new cars or boats but we are happy with what we have. Little by little we are saving and investing. We are just taking things at our pace. The internet definitely creates a construct that can shape your mind for the worst but there are gems in certain places and this is video one of them. Thanks!

    This is incredibly accurate. As an entrepreneur that has had quite a bit of success, this is absolutely true. It doesn't matter how much you make, almost everyone you know seems to have more, and that's ok. Once you get to the point where you start to evaluate yourself based on progress, rather than perfection, then you can start to be fulfilled and recognize progress and growth, personally, financially, or in any other form.

I recently made the decision to completely forsake everything I studied and pursue another path, and I’m happier I committed to that choice than to just sit and wait around for nothing to happen. I wasn’t envious towards my friends, but I just didn’t know why I felt this way. Better idea thanks to the video hahah

    Happiness is free… the sound of the ocean, a close friends birthday party, the smell of fresh cilantro, a wonderful glass of wine… there is so much more to life than the perception of the lifestyle of the wealthy. It is pathetic to say a car, big house, or expensive toys makes you happy. I truly feel sorry for people that need paper to make them happy. Fulfillment requires humility, empathy, and a desire to live for others rather than for self. Awesome video!

    Holy Moly I can relate so much. We're living in a society that keeps pushing is to compare ourself to other people instead of our past self, so of course we'll always feel miserable in the end. I have a side of my extended family who I think is very show off (expensive weddings, expensive house, expensive parties, brilliant kids to brag about...) and I just hate that because they don't invite me and my family because they mean it, they invite us because they wanna show how successful they or their kids are. So long short story I'm done with the toxicity and am currently cutting ties with them (my dad says I'm gonna regret it but I value my mental health and would prefer spending it with people I truly enjoy).
    People like to make other miserable and they day we stop listening to them is the day we win, but it's easier said than done. For example women still grow up with the idea that they'll be complete once they give birth. Of course giving birth is a beautiful thing but not having kids doesn't make you less of a woman. Same goes for men, they have to be tough/dominant/earn more money than their wife... otherwise they're not real men.
    I was always asked why I don't wear more feminine accessories like jewelry, high heels (...) as it would enhance my feminity and I reply that I wear them when I feel like it (which means never 🤣) and I don't feel less of a woman because I don't wear any,...

After watching this video and actually writing down how far I've come since around 2016 I feel much happier and positive about the direction I'm heading. My mindset has completely switched all from a 10 minute video - Thank you!

      Dude that is really sad to read how about learning a new skill like programming or something and getting a job at Microsoft Google Apple you know the big tech or just take a zero percent interest loan like an islamic loan and I don't know invest it in like buying stocks or a house and renting it while also hoping for not losing the dept money by a bad investment if you lost the dept money your life will suck even more because you will have to work for years to payoff the dept or file for bankruptcy or something but don't worry there is something called safe investments like investing in coca cola stocks for example I mean it is not like people are gonna suddenly stop drinking coca cola but the problem with coca cola stocks is that they have a very little return percentage about 2 percent every quarter of a year ( 3months) which means if we assume that a coca cola stock cost about 100 dollars you are going to get only 2 dollars for that stock after 3 months so yeah it sounds like it doesn't worth it but hey I very not sure about what the heck I am saying right know so go and do your research or you will stay in that very little paying job if you are happy with it it is fine don't make a life changing decision just because of something a stranger types on youtube

    Hey Vincent. Just wanted to leave a thank you note here. I'm going through a lot of recent changes in my life (moved to another country, learning a new language, recently married, and so on) and sometimes got me with the feeling of being "financially behind" because of all the investment that these changes demanded. But, after seeing your analysis, and after making the excercise you suggested, I looked back to my past self and realized that I'm waaaay more ahead than I thought. My goal now is to become the better version of myself, little by little reach financial freedom and stop comparing myself to other people's journey.

    This video is great and something I’ve found myself doing; comparing myself financially success to others. We get so fixated on earning a lot of money but I think it’s important to recognise that if you can find a job that covers rent, bills and all your other expenses (with some money left over) then you are financially supporting yourself. You don’t need to become a millionaire. You can earn a LOT less to do this. I think your two tricks will help a lot with that especially the planning for the future stuff. Thanks man :)

    i'll be blunt. it's very demoralizing to read that just 2 generations ago the run of the mill american worker could buy a house, support a family, have a car by age 30, and have enough money leftover to save for retirement.... while can afford a bi annual family vacation....

    • @warlocksnevereverdie
      @warlocksnevereverdie Před 2 lety +37

      think of it this way, the older generations started working at 12-14 anyone who became succesful either got a business degree, became a lawyer or docter or joined the trades. they didnt sit down every night and watch netflix. they hustled incredibly hard. my grandpa used to go out and move sprinklers knee deep in mud on walnut farms. he retired as a foreman. a major part of the problem for millenials is they are willing to slum it like older generations had to. the parents of millenials undoubtedly had it easier than anyone else. but success in life is never free. most families with money lose it in 3 generations of less. The reason why its so hard for people to get along these days is because people arent willing to say fuck you to their bosses, or the real estate broker, or the bank, and just continue to live poor until they can truly afford to buy the things they want. so many people continue to live paycheck to paycheck for no reason. the majority of people who make 100k are living paycheck to paycheck still. Financial illiteracy is the greatest problem the world has ever faced.

    I think it's a mindset thing for some. I sometimes feel financially behind, but I have plenty of money in the banks and more than plenty invested in crypto, and I live a modest lifestyle. That being said, I am thinking about quitting my good paying job of almost 14 years and I think I really just want to take a couple years off. I can afford to do so and have plenty left over (assuming I don't get crazy and take 20 trips to Vegas) but I think the reason I sometimes feel behind is because I don't know what I want to do or have. I don't own property and I have no kids, and I really don't want a lot. Maybe I'm just bored. I would love to be rich but that might tie into the whole "compare yourself to others" thing in the video. But even if I got rich like Gates, Bezos or Musk...I mean...then what? Sigh...
