  • Sure, you can go out and buy lots of expensive razors and soaps and aftershaves and brushes, but what can you get for less than $5 total? That's what I wanted to know as I stood in the shaving aisle of my local grocery store. So, I purchased the least expensive razors, shaving gel and aftershave I could find. All told, it cost less than $5 for everything!
Does the old saying apply, "You get what you pay for," or can I get a decent shave without even coming close to breaking the bank?
Let's try out these cheap shaving products and find out.

Hey dude, you bring the razor for before, not after. No gal appreciates whisker burn on any part of her body, especially between her thighs. You use the razor for a touch up before things get real hot and heavy. Duh, I don't think you've had many experiences with women. A few girls that don't know better yet, but not real women. Oh, you should probably shave before anyway, you don't want your whiskers to pop your blow up doll.

Comes with a few blades (“ice tempered steel”, but they’re overrated so you could totally get the blades from a different brand that are cheaper). You can fine them practically everywhere.

There are two kinds of shave gels in the market one that foams up and the other that stays clear or low foaming gel. Most high end shaving gels tend to stay low foaming or clear. Cheap ones are the one that foams up. My fav brand is Hawkins and Brimble if you spend abit more or mid range products it last you longer then the cheap stuff cause with cheap stuff you tend to use alot more I will not use something that comes out of the can. Cheap products mostly have too much alcohol that dry your skin out.

Those things are probably better than a Gillette Fusion. I used one of those since high school since that's all I knew, but once my facial hair started getting thick and rough, it became too hard to shave. Shaving more than once or twice a week meant my face would hurt super bad- like thousands of pin needles poking my face all over.
Switched out to DE, and nowadays shavette, about a year ago. Classical wetshaving has changed everything. Used to HATE shaving, but now I won't leave my house without taking a few minutes for a proper shave. And I feel an often irresistible urge to spend money from my paychecks on a new brush, a new bowl, a new soap, a new aftershave, something... But that's fine because shaving went from something I couldn't stand to a hobby and essential routine.

Great budget shave, the lion de razor i used last week costs about 1,5 dollar's and that can be re used so its also quite cheap. I went back to my aristocrat, and that certainly isnt a budget razor lol. Some budget shaving soaps like arko shave sticks work out super cheap too, and they're way way way better than gels and foams, so a budget traditional de shave is definitely possible.

Tesco do Essentials razors, 5 single blade disposables for 30p, or 37 cents if you will. Shave foam, Aldi, equivalent 80 cents. Aftershave, don't know of any brands but the £1 shop will have some, so 1.37 cents for that. Our supermarket value brand prices have risen significantly in the past 10 years though, they're much closer to the price of the supposed quality own brands now. But a decade ago, you could get a pack of 5 razors for a ridiculously low price. Seriously, like 6 cents. Not kidding. Shave foam, probably about 30 cents. Cheap aftershave has stuck at the £1 price point for many years though, although that's becoming increasingly scarce. But you can get it, if you look hard enough.

I am the biggest cheapskate around, and i find that the Assured 5 blade 3 pack razors with the green handles at Dollar Tree are the best i could find right now. Dollar Tree once sold Noxema razors which were great too. I mostly buy foam creams like Barbasol because i like the lathers. The gels do not appeal to me. One piece of advise i can give with cheap razors is some makes are hard to clean, and i have to smack them against the sink to get the hairs out. Its because the gap between the last blade, and the frame of the razor is too narrow. I am now transitioning to a safety razor because i feel like in the long run they are a better value.
