Their best songs are those they sing in Italian, by far. Which is totally obvious, as nothing like your mother language allows you to express yourself the best way. And after smashing such a traditional, rock-repellent and English-chauvinist contest like Eurovision with a rock song in Italian, it surely wouldn't make any sense to start 'playing safe' and forget what they really are, which is what people around the world appreciate about them by the way.
Sadly I think that they will do much more in english from now on, like 80% of the album in english and 20% in italian... other italian bands do that too.
English is just easier to work with I'm afraid, not everybody is willing to go and read the translations

@@Debby1991MTM Me too. Italians and Spaniards listened to English songs for generations. It should go the other way too. Plus, look how much the percentage of foreigners signing up for Italian language instruction has gone up. The comments I see are all about how beautiful Italian sounds. As someone else said, there's no way you could write the poetic Italian lyrics Damiano writes in English.

@@isisvanharen730 Nikkie had been teasing on her instagram stories some new collaboration coming up, with all kinds of italian references, and because Måneskin was coming to NL it was sort of obvious from her hints that she'd be making a video with them - and Damiano's makeup looked so spectacular and slightly different than the usual black eye makeup, so I was like 'THEY MUST'VE GONE TO NIKKIE FIRST', because no way they would be making a video with Nikkie without someone getting their makeup done! Hahahah

Just because they had the chance to be apart of Eurovision and ended up winning doesn’t reflect the beliefs of an entire Country. At the end of the day why wouldn’t Italy be glad that they won Eurovision after 3 decades.

And homophobia and feminicides are a huge problem: try to be gay in Foggia or reject a guy in any small town in the South and see what happens. The north is massively racist, it is really not a progressive country at all.

I really love that they are becoming global because it's well deserved, and i love their songs in English but im honestly more into Italian ones even though i can't understand them. Idk it's just that Italian is such a beautiful language and it makes me fall in love with the melody first and then i look up the words online and that hits me even more....all in all i really hope that they don't switch fully to English because there is something special in their Italian songs.

I hope they keep making songs in Italian too. Their English ones are a lot of fun, but the Italian ones are deeper and really tug on my heartstrings, so I'm hoping they keep making a mix of both. It's a great balance.
I think the same, we are all kinda of tired of english, that's why k-pop is so popular these days. take a music genre and change the language and then you have something new and unique.

I can't believe damiano is 22 years old
i really really hope they can stay true to themselves as musicians and not start doing more English songs at the cost of their Italian music just because it would give them a wider audience. as much as i adore their english songs, the italian songs are the ones that got me hooked to them, even though i barely can understand a dozen or so words in italian. it’d be a huge loss for us if they focus less on the Italian but i would never hold it against them, because it’s undeniable that more english songs would truly make them global and i never could grudge them that. i just wish more people could see the beauty of their Italian songs.
They actually started off only doing English music and they didn’t start using Italian until later on

If they want to reach a global audience writing more songs in English helps big time.
Also, I feel like Italian is widely seen as a more beautiful language than English, so if anything speaking English instead will make some see them as "sellouts" or speaking an "inferior" language.

I absolutely love their italian songs, the feelings are so extra. I'm not italian, i do not understand the language, but the feeling and the vibing they offer by the songs are wonderfull. I can always search for the lyrics in english to understand the amasing writing, but I love how italian sounds like.

@@HamelinSong that's a very Russian thing - trying to look good for other people, when appearance is viewed as something that can channel respect or disrespect to others. Luckily we are moving from this attitude to a more relaxed way of presenting ourselves. And now I can see fewer and fewer girls wearing high heels or makeup on when going to buy a loaf of bread to a store next door (which was like that 20 years, and even 10 years ago)
