Lots of unarmored vehicles are being used. And lots of lives have been saved by some armies by using MRAPs and up-armored Humvees.For example in Iraq.

Rıza Kaptan You should see any tanks or humvee in the same instance, this is an APC used to mobilize troops safely across the battle field and defend standpoints that the army captures. It isn't meant to be sent solo, regular protocol calls for tanks and main ground vehicles in the area that might be a real threat and can withstand heavy hits such as rockets and IEDs, these can also withstand such devices but to a certain extent. And it looks to have protected and could have protected the passengers for a long time.
