My husband drives me to work and pick’s me up so I can watch Chateau Diaries or Chateau Unwrapped as it is a wonderful way too unwind from 12 hr shifts at the hospital. I’m so pleased about the names of the patrons being on the paneling-such a beautiful gesture to honor those who love the chateaux even if we have never been there. In ancient Egypt the name was everything for immortality and now you have bestowed immortality in that beautiful place dedicated to love. When I was in the great pyramid of Giza, I spoke the names of those I loved so that their names would be in the walls of that holy place for eternity.

Ugly watchtower , what a good name for you. Firstly don't make assumptions about the financial position of individual patrons based on the tier they are on. You can't know this. Secondly how practicable would it be for all names to be viewable ??
It can’t be that impractical. It could just be one small wall or even inside a cupboard as my sister suggested. Prefer our names to be visible maybe in one of the bedrooms.
Stephanie said that she would include anyone who had been a patron at anytime so in addition to the 3700 plus current patrons there must be another 1000 who have been and gone over the last 2 years or so. That is a lot of names to inscribe and what is the point of having wall panelling if the panelling isn't fixed to the wall
@@charlottedickens7713 yes agreed they would be attached to battens and away from the wall but my point is they would still be fixed in position and therefore names attached wouldn't be easily accessible.

23k raised for charity is an incredible amount - I had anticipated it was perhaps no more than half of that. It's helped a lot of people - very well done.
Hi from Perthshire in Scotland. Just a wee tip for your old books when you get them from the charity shops. Sometimes they smell a bit musty, you can place inside a few pages on each book , used tumble dryer sheets possibly cutting them in half. Place books in a carrier bag and leave the for a good 3 weeks, they should be a bit fresher and you are re using something that would go in the bin. I also use them for the towels, sheets and linen etc in the linen cupboard. Keep up the good work, love watching your vlogs. Xx

An amazing feat in a great part due to covid one good thing but I think the number one blessing is the way you have changed many people's lives me included. This vlog is perfection. A wonderful update of What was, What is, and What will be. I love that Stephanie wore the same dress as she wore in her first video of over 3 years ago. Time goes by so fast and it's hard for me to believe I've been watching the vlogs for that long. I can remember, The Chateau Diaries, being recommended to watch by CZcams. I had already been watching many restoration videos of mostly English restoration and I was so excited to see one from France. Thank you, Stephanie, for all the time and work you have done.

In my home, which we had built, I wrote our names on the framing before drywall so that my husband, my baby boy, and I will always be a part of this home. I know we won’t be here forever but as long as the house is here, a part of us will be here too.

It's so lovely to see all the work that has been done in 2021. Although I have watched every vlog it is easy to forget how much has been achieved over that time. ***In front of the chapel there's a circle you didn't bring up in this video. It could have been a paved patio or path leading up to the chapel with low stone wall around--a perfect place to plant flowers and have two big urns flanking an entryway of the circle. Watching you gets the creative juices running in all of us, Stephanie!

I'm sure you, Stephanie, have thought of this but just in case you haven't here is a little food for thought. Have you or are you legally allowed in France to set up an operating Trust for the chateau? In the US we can set up a Trust that can financially support a large property in perpetuity. This would ensure that what you are doing now will continue to be supported financially in the future. Just think of when Antoine is your age and has to overhaul the heating system or replace the roof. Of course my question is rhetorical as I am not wanting an answer. Thanks as always for allowing all of us into your lives and involving us in the exciting restoration of this fairytale chateau!

Stephanie have you ever thought of taking a room or even a hall and making it an art gallery dedicated your father's artwork? A place that maybe is climate controlled to preserve it, with benches or seating just like an art museum and that your guests could go and enjoy his work. Perhaps even having cards or frames with your comments or memories etc. of each painting near each piece. I think that guests would enjoy that and would be able to see them all instead of missing a piece or two since they are sprinkled around the Chateau. Just a thought I know you love his work and are very proud of them. What a lovely way to dedicate his work.

Three yrs ago, if you told me I would be looking forward to a chateau renovation every week I would have said you were a nuts. Wow it all looks like it's coming together and in time your garden will be fabulous with the Chateau my grandparents had white iron chairs and table and now my older sister has them oh a planter box ,you need a planter box it's not real big it's about as long as your arm and wide as from your wrist to elbow. Hi Stephanie. Whoever knew or, could have predicted, that CZcams would be your saviour in making your forever dream, your reality? I remember only too well when you absolutely first appeared on the Channel 4 programme and TBH, you were struggling big time to make ends meet way back then, but you were working so extremely hard. And, if it is not too rude, you look so much younger today than you did then - all about the stress, as I know only too well! So well done to you and your team(s) today.
The future plans for the Chateau sound wonderful - another slice of history in the making and you are documenting everything so extraordinarily meticulously too.
IMHO, ultimately, good things happen to "good" people. Enjoy and prosper as you deserve it all because you are so passionate and extremely hard working too.

I think it would be fun to have more espalier trees, fruit trees like apple, pear or peach up against the chateau. With levels of the branches eventually going up high & against the bedroom windows so that you can open the window, reach out & nab a treat!! That is also so nice to have the patrons names who have contributed to helping renovate the chateau commemorated there in the walls! That is so thoughtful!!!!
