I had no doubt that is would run. These 450's are amazing and will run for thousands of miles and years. I've been riding since age 16, and now 76 decided to get a 450 similar to one I had in the 70's and found a nice CM450 version. Sitting for 2 years with old gas and stabilizer thankfully, hooking up a battery, turing on the fuel flow it fired up on the second crank. Needing a tire, brakes, coil it runs like a charm. Enjoying the ride without windshield like I did in my youth.

I had no idea that Honda produced a 450 in this configuration. It looks like an overgrown 250 Rebel. When I read Honda 450, I was thinking the old DOHC twins.
I've worked on those old bikes alot n the biggest problem is finding replacement parts...it's basically a nightmare!!!...on mine I had to replace the CDI unit twice

I ordered a new dual carb for my rebel 250 old one was rebuilt but was still leaking, I'm just gonna take the old one off and store it for emergency.
Just got gifted one with a supposed electrical fault. Do you happen to remember where you got the solenoid from? Great video by the way!! (I’ll check the switch and battery beforehand)

Just be aware that if you remove the factory airbox and filter and put on airpods, you are going to need to rejet the carbs.
Need the tank and the tachometer lmk if you ever getting rid of them
There's a 1/8 fuel line between the carbs

Thanks for the video. Had a question about the fuel line connection to the carburetors, do you need a T connection to provide fuel to the second carb for the tank?
No it doesn’t have a t connection that I remember
@@HillendaleBros so the only connection is from the tank on the left one, and every other opening is either air intake or fume exhaust?

I have 1982 650 night hawk mine has a hard time starting paid way too much for mine might resell her r trade fer off don't know if the turn signals are original they have a short in them
You get a problem with it having a ticking noise i bought 82 nighthawk from a guy said there was a ticking noise my dad thinks tensioner but we are not sure
It's a honda, that ticking noise is normal. As long as your not backfiring or anything weird you should be good. You can double check your valve clearance if that rattle is too loud.
I got an 86 Nighthawk 450 a few months ago and the ticking seems to be normal. Just the gears and chunks of metal dancing around. Hasn’t given me any issue other than user errors. Hope you, your dad, and your bike are doing well!
@@CristianDiaz-tg1pj we found out the problem it could be a loose headbolt hopefully it's not too bad
@@Malvarez909 it is kinda of loud but the valves completely fine we found the problem MAYBE when we went to tighten the headbolt as the book says to do one wouldn't tighten
smart men drive cars out off garage, because no matter store car out or in, not go bad. but lot better repair and work bike in garage.
