Actually I'm a bit on both sides... they shoulda worked out a contract and if NOT shoulda come out said guys. "we don't need to tell you, but no side cries, we gave Bob an offer of 5-10 mill for the next few years and he declined too greedy. I think its the serious Adderall addiction Bob has not really alcohol. Not to mention Adderall is literally just pharmaceutical grade methamphetamine. Its generic name is literally amphetamine salt. The biggest issue with Bob as he mentioned he thinks he was due 30% of the $150,000. But he thinks that means gross revenue. NELK has like 100 employees. So it’s 30% of the NET. Bob doesn’t know business and he also doesn’t have anybody to explain it to him. He even mentioned he was surprised in this episode they had to pay studio fees.

I don’t know all the details but I remember when the pod kicked off to when Bob left and the controversy. I look at peoples character traits over time. That will basically tell you everything you need to know. The fact that Bob thought he owned 30% of the business but actually didn’t. That should of been the most important part of the contract to get right. So it makes me wonder what else he got wrong on these other revenue streams. On top of that there’s people in this world that will help you with something and think they’re owed the world for it. Hence why he was going bazerk mode wanting to see the books on everything, especially only 8 months in. Which rightfully so if it was a complete shit show of a operation. But it was a new podcast that already had a huge following I’m sure they had the right people in place to get these contacts right. I’m sure there can be a few hiccups along the way but it shouldn’t be anything everyone can’t resolve unless it’s just not meant to be
I believe Bob about the lack of transparency and therefore the distrust in what money he was actually owed. Also seems like Nelk was shady in what sort of business they were willing to conduct to limit how much revenue sharing really had to take place. If anything, I think this whole topic shows how important contracts are and the details within them. Bob should have made it clear about the requirement for revenue reporting on a specific cadence to chart out money owed. At the same time, it could be irrelevant if he truly is owed money and he can win something in court. But the contract obligated transparency would have been the way to go.

If Bob just opened up the shed, admitted his wrongs and stopped blaming others. Then honestly, I think most people would forgive him and still embrace him. But the dude tries to cover up his mistakes and act like he’s done nothing wrong, and never gets truly vulnerable and genuine with his fans, and he doesn’t realize that people are smart enough to see right through his façade and see him for being a snack that he has. You don’t get booted from multiple platforms and multiple big-time deals because it’s not your fault, there’s one common denominator, and all of Hobs fallouts and it’s Bob, I hope this dude figures it out and actually starts being a good person and genuine and vulnerable with his following and stops trying to act like he’s perfect. He’s also so concerned with his image and the way that he tries to portray himself makes it so much worse, if he would just realize that owning up to your shit and being vulnerable makes you way more likable then he would be in a way better spot.

It amazes me how people think pieces of paper, also known as contracts can’t be broken or disregarded. Reminds me of that scene from the movie the founder “Contracts are like hearts, they’re meant to be broken”. Business doesn’t have to be this way. However, for as long humans conduct business, at some level some of us will only exist at the limitations of our own human nature. I believe it is more than possible though to be valuable to society while also being a decent human being. It’s definitely a more difficult path than just success alone, but in the end those who choose a path of not just influence, but moral courage will find themselves proud of who they are, and what they meant to others. Bob signed a contract, all else is irrelevant. What happened is this - Kyle and Bob discussed equity allocation but when Kyle took it to his team to draft up, they advised him that Bob should get "equity" in the way a lot of executives get "equity" ... what it really is is some sort of profit split, not true equity. But Bob accepted it and signed a contract. Moronic move if he was expecting real, true equity - founder equity.
