I‘d like to call the soundtrack of Turrican 2 the score of my life. I‘m so in love with those tracks. And the symphonic recordings are absolutely stellar, listening to them on repeat for years.

As a teenager I took the intro music from Turrican 2 at music class when my friends all chose the last hit from Guns and roses or Michael Jackson. I got so embarrassed when we all listened to it, nobody else would understand my choice 😂

I agree with Chris about his melodies being the key ingredient. Harmonically, he's rather 'traditional' shall we say, but he could write crazy catchy tunes and he had really solid structure and great transitions between parts.

I used to hang around in the local computer store on a Saturday back in the day. They had lines of computers setup (C64/Amstrad/Atari/Amiga etc), I had a C64 at the time and was blown away by the Amiga, but couldn't afford one yet. I remember them showing off Amiga R-type and I was blown away by the title music. This is before the days of youtube/internet, so it's not like you could go home and listen to that music again unless you actually had an Amiga and the game, so often when I would go there on a Saturday, I would ask them to put the R-Type intro on the Amiga so I could hear it again.

Thank you for the great music which helped shape our Amiga Gaming memories in them years Chris. Turrican games were out of this world, endless hours of great fun. The music I liked best was from Jim Power in Mutant Planet. The music in the levels was mighty impressive, the guile and craft to produce something that good on that 16-bit machine still bewilders me. Simply sublime work.😎👌
