10/10. Rub smacks even with the substitutes. Never seen my kids consume chicken so quickly
I love how you put your kids perspective in your spices. Much respect and thank you.
This man needs more recognition..this is such a good rub!
Tried your rub on some chicken thighs tonight and they came out amazing. Definitely gonna use it again this one's a keeper. Thank you!
Thank you, this is delicious!!!
Thanks for the recipes
I used this recipe but substituted a couple of ingredients that I didn't have. I baked my chicken and it turned out delicious! I will be using this rub from now on.
1 Tb table salt
½ Tb seasoned salt
1 Tb black pepper fresh ground
1 Tb smoked paprika
2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp granulated garlic
1½ tsp oregano
1 tsp ground cumin
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Your Welcome!
Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you
thank you man
Just tried it amazing
Thank you, this is quite helpful! I look forward to trying on high heat chicken grilled on Weber kettle with either Vortex or Slow 'n Sear (without water pan).
I made the rub and it's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it!
Tried it last night it was delicious .. I added pinch of jalapeño seasoning cuz it was there but the chicken was delicious along w killer hogs bbq sauce … thanks for the recipe !!
trying it tonight Chef, thank you so much!
Let us know how it went! I hope you enjoyed it.
I substituted a bunch of things for old bay
and it turned out very good
Thank you for this. I want to start making my own rubs. This helps.
Glad it was helpful! Let us know if you give this one a try. It's a great place to start for a sugar free rub. We'll have more rub recipes coming, but this is our go to for chicken right now.
Wow... I haven't tried this rub, but I respect that you tried to share this recipe in hopes a general audience loves it. Not just adults- kids also. So good job on this one!
Thanks John, all the best!
Excellent...
Awesome 👌. I just make my own seasoning like yourself.
Really delicious. Try it!!!! I made some thighs today they came out perfect
Wow! That’s delicious! I didn’t measure spices - just eyeballed it. I had green peppers/onions/mushrooms in a ziplock with olive oil and these spices, mixed well. I spread the veggies on a baking sheet and added the seasoned chicken on top. It was fire 🔥 Thank you!
I will try it
Thankssss
Well, thank you sir very much and I do try these rub .I enjoy the idea of spices,Huauchinango,Puebla
Thanks for giving it a go!
This is great
Thanks! We really like it and glad you are as well.
Much appreciated
Thanks for watching! Let us know how it goes.
Love the mild tip, my Wife will love that. Thank You!
Trying it today
Let us know how it goes!
He gave me a great idea, save my empty seasoning container and put my dry ribs in. Awesome.
Finger liking😊
Great video. I'll have to give it a try. Would this be good for pork butts for pulled pork?
It's a good overall bbq rub in my opinion, but it's not a sweet rub since there's no sugar in it at all. That's why I like it for chicken. If you're used to a sweet rub on your pork, then this isn't that, but it could be if you added sugar to it. It's just a good old bbq rub that's sugar free. Let me know if you try it!
This sounds good, how would this be for doing a rotisserie chicken? I'm going to try my hand at doing one of these in a couple of weeks and looking for a rub to add.
I use it on rotisserie chicken all the time. it's great!
@The Barbecue Lab - If you haven't already, you should make a video on how to smoke wood chips with a gas grill
Sounds like a good one.
I m going to mix this up but I am going to add onion powder
Enjoy the slow step by step
Let us know if you give it a try!
To be fair, unless i am specifically calling anything spicy, I'm not putting a lot of heat in it. I like my food to have flavor. I also like spice. There's room in the world for both. What i don't like is food that's so damn hot you can't enjoy it.
What is a substitute for season salt as I’m in the uk
I think celery salt, but not quite sure, I used that anyway and it tasted good.
recipe for seasoned salt- 1/3 cup kosher salt or maldons 1 tbsp black pepper 1 tbsp paparika 1 tsp onion powder 1tsp garlic powder 1tsp chili powder 1/4tsp cayenne pepper enjoy
I'm gonna use this on my neighbor 😊
You will marinate your neighbour?
Great recipe for a rub! Don’t forget to leave emojis - the algorithms love them. ❤❤❤
Aww, thanks! 💪
🤔
What is seasoned salt?
Salt with other spices mixed in. Its really good, try sprinkling some on corn on the cob
What abiut thyme or parsley
Go for it! Make it your own
Salt separately and add as much rub as you wish!
That works too
I'm thinking this also. I just made a batch and the chickens in right now. I had no seasoning salt but found some celery salt to substitute. We'll see 😂
im putting this shit on my everything
I'm going to make some tonight to dry rub some chicken thighs. I'm going to try smoking them on the gas grill with some applewood chips in a foil packet. I'll let yall know how they come out
I used it on chicken thighs tonight. It’s still my go to recipe that I use all the time. Play with it and make it your own. Use it as a starting point and branch out into what you like.
@@TheBarbecueLab For sure, noted! I'm going to start a recipe book I always forget them haha. Thanks! I have the thighs all ready for the grill Tuesday!
For some reason he look n sound like Jimmy Kimmel. 😳🤭😁 Beautiful recipe by the way. 👍🏼
The link to the recipe does not work
Give it a try now, I went back and edited the link, so it should work now. Enjoy!
Thanks it did work this time
Seasoned salt is a mystery in this rub recipe. Season salt brands can be different from each other.
I use Lawry’s most of the time, but I like the stuff we buy at Aldi too.
@TheBarbecueLab Lawry's is an oldie but Goody. Kind of a benchmark in seasoning. In southeast Texas we have too many seasoning rubs to choose from. Most have similar ingredients but it is all about ratios and how the spices work together. I will stick with your recipe but try different season salts. Got a local company named Texjoy locally that import raw spices and erbs and grind their own brand and for other folks custom formulas. They started off making grinding coffee and still do. Name is Seaport coffee.
you purchased rubs at a hardware store?😮😮😮
My local hardware store carries about 80 different brands of BBQ rub in their grill section, and it’s amazing!
@@TheBarbecueLab wow! one stop shopping. i love it.
🎉😅
Who would pay 200.00 for a pepper mill most don't have money like that
Other BBQ folks on CZcams have highly recommended the Pepper Cannon without any affiliate links or sponsorship. I agree that it's quite expensive and certainly optional. But it's supposedly super fast/efficient, highly adjustable, great for other spices besides pepper, and extremely durable/long-lasting.
Then don’t buy it
I got an espresso bean grinder for less. Works awsome
Even if I was well-off I wouldn't spend that much on one
@@youdontsay3379if u cook often it will basically pay itself
Pepper Cannon for price £200 what??? its a joke?? wtf lol, beutifull antique pepper grinder cost around £50,and it will do job better and quicker
I have to restart this entire recipe because I was using a tablespoon for everything🤦♂️
I don't know why your comment had me laughing so hard, but it caught me off guard because I'd definitely be the one to make this mistake.😅 😂😫
I love salty, garlicky, and spicy chicken. You lost me in the first 2 minutes.
