    You'd never guess they've been at it for fifty years! Brave! The patina of their exquisite sound matches the gold leaf on the cover.

    Wonderful, as always! It's nice to grow older with you and your music. Have been a fan since your TV series in the Summer of 1975.

    Hey man, I am in the. Twilight Zone traveling down Route 66 to destination BirdLand.... and I certainly miss that Killer Joe! One of the Greatest Jazz Bands of all Time!. Nothing like the Originals ....but Happy to see and hear they are STILL making great music. They still got that awesome ORIGINAL SOUND that can never be duplicated. I love you MHT.

    Is that Janis Segal scatting to Artie Shaw's version? Wow. I love Segal.💗

      That's actually Cheryl Bentene, doing all the high scat. Real control and tone there.

      @@Ronald60202 Wow. I thought Janis was the expert scatter... thanks for the correction.

      @balhisay Před 2 lety +3

      In fact this isn't scat but vocalese (the art of sing lyrics over great instrumental jazz solos). In this song Cheryl and Janis sing the Artie Shaw and Roy Eldridge instrumental solos (respectively) of the original 1945 version by the Artie Shaw Orchestra.

    • @balhisay

      @@balhisay I know Janis and Cheryl were vocalese-ing ng to Artie Shaw and Roy's solos. I misspoke when I mentioned "scatting', I just wanted to know if it was Artie's recording.
