- Ranger Megan Patel loses her brother, Daniel, under mysterious circumstances. Struggling to understand how he died, she finds herself alone, venturing into the vast pine forest. However, as she follows the trail of her brother into the woods, the trees begin to change and shift around her. Soon Megan arrives in places without any recollection of how she got there. Almost as if something is pulling her deeper into the woods.
Something dark and dangerous, that Megan might not be able to escape.

I thank Trevor Henderson for allowing me to find this masterpiece. This is a beautiful horror short that I enjoyed so very much

Really amazing, gives me sort of blair witch vibes in the best way possible. I'd watch an anthology of these.
Very nice atmosphere. Loved how the stop motion added to the overall otherworldly feel!
While in general I'm no fan of horror, this isn't some jump-scare ridden mess, it is clear thought and effort went into this, and it really paid off.
I'm glad to see the character doesn't react to the changes in the environment by speaking, for one that'd be really cheesy, but more importantly it gives the whole thing a dreamlike quality, to the character it sort of makes sense even though she knows somethings wrong.
All in all, fantastic work, good job to anyone and everyone who worked on it!
Great work. No cliche scary things popping up. The film is really gripping and holds attention of the viewer. the use of colors and mist adds to the feeling of the story. also, the attention for details is excellent.
To all the creators of this film, please continue making films like these (or better than these).

A beautifully crafted and horrifying atmosphere with a wonderful story. I love the ending where the voice changes--a great addition!
I really love the stop motion feeling of this short, as well as the character design. That last shot is so powerful. Amazing work!

I've watched this twice and I'm noticing things I didn't before.

@@mk3_okc The forest gains their curiosity and warps time within its limits.
She doesn't feel like she's been there long but as you notice, her perception of time skews- her hat "suddenly" frozen in the lake.
Without food and warmth you'll die of exposure. If your sense of time is skewed you won't feel hungry or think to eat or get warm because you've only been out for a "short" time.
There's a chance she saw her brother at the entrance to the woods and followed him im- but it's also equally likely she saw herself. I feel it's suggested she saw herself as the tapes her brother originally recorded become her own voice instead- suggesting that perhaps the same thing happened to him.
She does end up retuning to the trees at the end of the video as well.
I loved every minute of this. The beautiful, thoughtful kind of horror.

I watched this a while back and loved it but then I completely forgot it until I just randomly found it again. Its such a amazing short I really love all the added detail to everything. 👏
Us humans cannot resit a mystery, especially involving a loved1 or some1 you know.
As much as it hurt we will stick our heads into the mess over and over. Until we find a answer or quit..

wow this is amazing! can someone explain the ending to me though?
Pine's Art Director here: We would love people to be able to decide what they believe the story means, but the story that we worked with is not really meant to be read as a metaphor or anything. The monster is real, what happened to the brother actually happened and Megan ends up being obsessed with finding out what is going on in the forest, just like her brother had been before his demise.
@@luccorvus ahh so she doesnt literaly replace him in this reality to lure someone else into the woods just like he (kind of) did with her? i see! her repeating the very same words he said in the beginning was a little bit confusing haha. thank you! it sure cleared up the plot for me.
your short really is exquisite and beautifully crafted, animation is simply stunning, and the way the story unfolds... ahh, so captivating, tense and wonderful. full of very dark wonders, though :ъ
