    Best IT instructor on CZcams. Problem is .. the videos are very long. My dream is a mixture between Eli videos and Linus's as fast as possible videos.

    If upgrading to a converged infrastructure in a building, I'd be looking at putting in multi-core fiber optic cables with localised switches, perhaps run fiber and power to each wireless AP, and split out the copper from there... For a decent size office, keep in mind that any copper solution is going to run into scaling issues above the 10Gbit mark, which actually isn't that much margin... Also, VLANs would be a neat way to handle compliance/security issues. Thanks for the great vid! Very thought provoking. :)

    Eli, just a note from 2:50. I remember punch cards! (Well it was the seventies so I kind of remember it. Lol.) We didn't need "terminals"!! We didn't need hard drives!! We had to walk, uphill, both ways, in the snow, to the computer lab on campus! We didn't have computers at home! I killed a polar bear with my text book one time! We ate dirt! (Mainly because were passed out.) And we were thankful!!(I hope most of you know that I'm kidding.)

    Hi Eli! I'm a brand new subscriber watching your videos last 3 weeks and i love them, thank you for making them. I've got a question.
    Why do you have so low subscribers to views ratio in comparison to different CZcamsrs?
    Actually this is why i clicked on your channel in the first place. I spotted it and started wondering how is it possible.
    Maybe you can come up with a reason for that.
    Once again big thanks for making this videos and greetings from Poland.
    BTW. I know i posted this under a fresh video which right now has 1k views. Im taking into account the average on many videos.

      +Jakub Kamiński Eli makes a bi-monthly video telling his subscribers to go away. I plan on uploading a similar video very soon, I have a lot of people on my channel I need to get rid of. :)

    • @TheCubus95
      @TheCubus95 Před 8 lety

      Yes, you're right he does that. But don't you think people who feel offended by Eli or just do what he says would actually unsubscibe?

    • @rossmanngroup
      @rossmanngroup Před 8 lety +1

      Jakub Kamiński No. If someone were truly offended they wouldn't give him the satisfaction of doing what he asked!
      If you piss me off, I am not going to do what you ask me to do - I'll do something else, or the exact opposite.
      Rather, I imagine they would stop watching his videos so that the subscriber count does not go down, while simultaneously staying subscribed as a form of spiteful defiance.

    • @TheCubus95
      @TheCubus95 Před 8 lety

      +Louis Rossmann Hah, that's a good point. I've sent to Eli this question on his email. Maybe he'll see it, or a comment and take part in the discussion. I'm interested in what would be his theory but not enough to make a Skype appointment :P

      The best part of CZcams is the exposure.
      The worst part is the exposure.
      You get more viewers on this platform, and more of a "pile on" affect as your channel grows, than you will on virtually any other social media platform - it's insane. The downside is you have a bunch of people you wouldn't trust petting your cat viewing your content.
      I am very grateful and appreciative to the subscribers I have that have learned something from my videos and used it to better their own lives in some small way. I get lots of comments and emails and pictures of the sort and that makes it all worthwhile. But the people that think I owe them something can just go eat a dick. In that regard, I think we are probably the most subscriber-offensive channels on YT, in terms of telling people to go away.

    Eli, I have a question. I am a transgender woman that is post-op and trying to get into the IT field. Not too many people can tell that I was born a man but it makes me very self conscious. I am wondering, do you think that trans-gendered women can be in networking? I am wondering because I wanted to be a desktop technician and help people with their issues, but I'm wondering if I would be better off working in a back corner. I would appreciate your help.

    I like your videos, but you could make them so much shorter and more watchable if you didn't repeat and labor the same points 10 times. Intended as constructive criticism
