Wow... I'm getting so frustrated with the people watching these diy videos and complaining to the makers because they don't have the same exact materials and/or complaining how some designers are using thrifted items...
🤯 SERIOUSLY?! Y'all need to go around and leave these diyers alone! WHY are you even watching diy projects getting created if you don't intend on going to get the materials? Do you think all of these materials just popped into their craft rooms? No. They didn't. These people took the time and carefully invested in their mixed media. If you listen during the work, most designers will talk about alternative materials that could be used instead so we could still make a similar project.
I'm sorry Sammy and all the other diyers!! You have to plug your ears around some people! I LOVE what you do Sammy! Plus I believe you're genuine and not to mention hysterical!!

Be careful cleaning those birds, sold by a party home decor yrs. ago. They are salt and told to clean with soda, flour and a soft brush . They are made of salt, one lady ran through the dishwasher and couldn't imagine where her birds went..LOL
Dawn I once played a trick on my sister and gave her some birds I knew what it was made of but I told her put them in my dishwasher she did I started laughing and she started crying I had to run into my bedroom and gave her new ones I had for her.
Aren't they alabaster birds? I didn't know that was a salt material. I love it when I learn something. I never knew how to clean them properly but I knew not to put them in water. They are beautiful but show dirt so badly. Wish I had kept mine now.

I thought it was bad when my mom got the smart idea to run (now collectible) Disney figurines my Aunt bought me every year she went to WDW, and majority of the paint flaked off. 🥺

I am so glad your growing in your crafting because I've been growing with you and I don't mind buying the IOD stuff because I want my crafting to be things I love and I hope you continue to craft with that stuff because I need ideas!! 😂 There are plenty of people on here still sticking with DT and I have a ton of that but the IOD designs bring it up a notch or two or three...you do you Sammy most of us LOVE your content 🎉❤🎉

Those are Alabaster birds .I think every home had those in them in the 60s and 70s. We had two on our hutch.I absolutely love love love the rabbit blocks . So high end. Love them all. Love that you use such beautiful colors.

You know if someone thinks an item is a high price point Google is a great place to find recipes for the types of paint and less expensive items. I always think of the videos as inspiration.. take your ideas and make them mine. I also enjoy seeing how beautiful what you make turns out!! TYFS 🥰

You can also use matte medium or modpoge over your stencil before painting it to help with bleeding... the glue does bleed, but since it's clear it's less noticeable and it seals the edge so the paint doesn't bleed.

If you are still having problems with the milk paint instead of using warm tap water use warm bottled water. I know I have more cells in my paint pours with the bottled water.

So, I had the exact same experience with milk paint on a candlestick. First I took off the flakes then coated it again and then sanded it. It came out great, I love it. I think milk paint is kinda hard to get used to. I also painted a 2 tier pie table with it and it hardly chipped at all 🤷🏻♀️ Btw I love your style.

I don't use resin, but my thought is that a medicine syringe (try feed store) would work for tiny moulds

It's crazy because I've watched a few crafters that are getting the same crappy message from the same viewer about the supplies and products that's being used is stuff they can't buy and hatin on all the crafters and it's sad. Keep your head up and shake off the haters.

i watched your video where you painted 2 white birds and told the audience to wash bc they have a white dust on them. the birds that you painted looked like Alabaster doves. they were sold by Home Interirs many, many years ago, probably in the 1970's. popular.
: a compact fine-textured usually white and translucent gypsum often carved into vases and ornaments. i copied this from a dictionary.
❤ As you always say, “You do you boo” 😊 I’m crafting again for the first time in over 30 years, no I cannot afford everything, but I can afford some things, and I improvise when I can, and save up and buy what I can when I can.
About craft room organization: a tidy craft room isn’t being used often (in my experience) BUT please go and visit another CZcamsr, Clutterbug and take her quiz to learn your organization style. She’s been a tremendous help to me.

I love your projects and I too have been watching Jamie Ray (I stumbled across her and Zeb a couple weeks ago) I am brand new to using salt wash and have been trying a lot of the techniques that you’re showing and I am having so much fun watching you do them and learning along the way with you so thank you for that. I also wanted to mention you seem concerned about the background noise and I don’t get any of that coming across I think I heard one dog park one time and that was it but in this video and previous videos you said that you’re sorry for all the background noise and it doesn’t come through , i’m sure it seems very loud and chaotic to you but those of us watching just aren’t hearing it, so just wanted to let you know. You were one of the very first people I subscribed to and I love all the variety of your channel. I love the crafting I absolutely love the woodworking as I do love to build things . I love my power tools !! I was also really happy to see that you were showing your thrift halls. It is going to help me to cut down on going thrifting. I love thrifting but it can be almost addictive!!! I always find something amazing and when I don’t go I just know I’m missing out on something great , I’m sure you know the feeling hahaha! I have accumulated a lot of stuff and I really need to work through what I have and quit picking up more stuff. So I love watching what you have thrifted while I’m working on some of the stuff that I have thrifted.
