idk about it not being cost effective. The fly larva thing is essentially free if you have the right environment.

Well I am no expert but so long as you aren't overfeeding and leaving uneaten feed in there it shouldn' cause you any issue. I have a closed loop system and it has not caused me any issue. The feed I use is a floating pellet so you can see if there is any left uneaten and remove it if needed
