  • Cooking Utensils in Ranked from Worst to Best. Which cookware is the best. Which cookware is safe?
Do you use non stick pans or aluminium vessels to cook your food? Or the pressure cooker is a part of your daily cooking? If yes then you might be unknowingly inviting serious health issues like Hypothyrodism, PCOD, loss of memory, complications of the heart, kidney and even cancer. So which is the safest cookware in the Indian market? To make things simpler for you I examined the most commonly available cookwares in the Indian market and on the basis of their toxicity have categorised them into 5 categories.
01:03 - Category 1 - These is the worst cookware in the Indian market. What's disturbing is that more than 90% of the Indian urban homes use it. If you want to stay healthy, this cookware should be out of your kitchen.
02:25 - Category 2 - This is also among the worst cookwares in the Indian market. It is also widely used by Indians.
03:40 - Category 3 - These cookwares are definitely better than the ones in the previous two categories but are far from best. They too come with hidden dangers.
04:45 - Category 4 - These cookwares are among the safe and practical options. Although, they do have certain limitations.
06:00 - Dishonourable Mention - This video is incomplete without the mention of this cookware. It was never a part of Indian cooking heritage but now it is a household name.
06:44 - Category 5 - This cookware is by far the best among all. It is the most scientific cookware ever made. What's great is that it is also cheap and available.

Useful video. It is always wise to look back to the healthy life of our ancestors before we do something. They used only clay/ iron/brass/stone vessals and bio spoons made of jackfruit tree leaves, aracanut tree leaves, cocunut shells etc.
For the last 3 to 4 years I use cookwares made of clay, iron or stone ('kalchatti' in our language) only. Very rarely steel vessels too. For serving, only glass, ceramic, coconut shell or steel utensils. And yes, banana leaves, of course! I threw away all my non stick cookwares out of my house without any concern. But still I could not avoid pressure cookers. Could you please tell me what is the metal used for making that Futura black pressure cooker? Is it healthy to use for cooking?

I have gone through few hundred comments under this video. I would like to clear few doubts asked by many people.
    1. Clay pots will not work under induction stove. Induction stove works based on magnetic field. If any vessel with a magnetic base will work on it. Since clay pots are not having magnetic field it will not work. If you want to know which of the vessels you have will work on induction stove, just pick up a magnet and bring it close to the base of your vessel, if it sticks it should work on induction stove.
    2. Many people are in favour of pressure cooker. But pressure cooker is not healthy to use. The simple reason is - while cooking anything, the food should come into contact with five great elements of nature, that is, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and sky or Akash. Earth - any vessel's ore is taken from earth. Water - most of Indian cooking involves addition of water in one way or other. Fire - without fire cooking is not possible traditionally. Akash - is a void space which is existing in all style of cooking. Air - this is the problem with pressure cooker where food is not allowed to get in contact with air while cooking which is not the problem of any other "non-pressure"cooking vessels.
    3. Many people are asking for the so called scientific proofs for whatever good things you shared. This is the mentality of people who thinks whatever they are doing is right or who fears to face the truth. A simple question to them - on what basis they first started to use their cooking vessels. Did they ask the same proof or lab reports or evidences to support their decision to buy non-stick cookware or aluminium cookware? Never! then why now?
Please don't regard the people who posts comment against this video. We can't change everyone whom we meet. And it's not our job to do so!!!!
    Keep spreading your knowledge!

I read all the comments as well and this is exactly what came to my mind. There are people stating that he doesn’t have proof to back it up, which is this mentality where they think they will be “served”, he doesn’t owe them an explanation. They can continue using non stick and pressure cooking.

So how feasible is earthen pots to be used on a daily basis and how is it to be maintained? 😳🤔
Must be breaking too easily.. How long does it last? Easily cleanable? Can we use usual dishwashing soaps on it? Does it retain the smell of the food? If used frequently over high flame, does it have chances of bursting or cracking?
Omg.. Had so many questions 🤦🏻
I earnestly request you to do a separate video for earthen pots.. It's indeed a vital topic which is unknown to the most of us sadly.. Thanks a lot

    • @Coder_DhruvArora
      @Coder_DhruvArora Před 5 lety +38

Use low flame for first 5-10 minutes, then some high would be OK , if you will maintain it, it will last for YEARS, if it retain Smell of food just fry some Onions in it.
You can't use dishwashing soaps on it, just find it on CZcams on how to clean it.
      Hope it helps

When they put coffee they will start cooking dals in very low flame.. Little effort to maintain... But need low cost powder dish wash only. Get from local wender u get low cost.. Not online.. Keep in sun light its best way ... All top of these we can avoid many diseases and get nutritional food. Taste will be wonderful when we cook using mud pots.... Try it...

Hi Vivek, have been following your videos recently, watched this video and I must say it was an eye opener. We are unable to try clay or bronze as of now and the best we can do is to get rid of non stick pots and pans and move to Stainless Steel. I was blown away by your detailed analysis which was very helpful and got to know about Mayer which claims to have zero nickel Stainless Steel. Since it's very expensive wanted to see if you could let us know if it's better than other stainless steel brands which are sold at half the price. Your suggestion would not just help me but also thousands of other people who are spending a lot keeping in mind their families' safety. Thanks!
