    I just purchased a Gothic style 1880s Ansonia clock. I bought it for a great price as the owner wasn't sure if it worked. I connected the pendulum and swung it into action. After around 20 seconds it would stop. I saw your video and thought I could at least get the pendulum to swing at an even rate. Not only was I able to achieve this but to my absolute delight, the pendulum didn't stop after 20 seconds. It kept on swinging! Thank you so much for your invaluable video which clearly allowed the clock to both tick evenly and also to work! Much appreciated!!!!!!!

    Lots of thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge. I managed to set my dad's wall clock's timing (he inherited the clock from his father just after WW2) and the clock is running like new now.

    Thank you so much for making this video. I inherited an E. Ingraham Kitchen Mantle clock ad was pulling my hair out trying to get it to run for more than 6 swings. Se the timing and Bam its ran for an hour now!

    Very good video on setting a balanced ticking of the clock. I adjusted the rod on my 19th century Ingraham mantle clock. The ticking is now even and runs w/out stopping.

    thanks for the wonderful video! my problem is; clock only runs about 2 minutes and slowly weakens and stops... its a clock my girl friend was just given because of this problem, and i thought i'd take a look at it before giving up on it...any ideas what it could be with these symptoms? thanks again!

      Thanks for your feedback! It sounds like it’s losing power, which is usually caused by wear. There is the slight possibility that it’s something simple, but if you’re unsure if it’s been professionally serviced within the past 10 years or so, it will most likely require an overhaul.

    Surely there must be an Android app that measures the timing between the ticks, yes?

    My clock's pendulum is at top most position to swing faster but the clock still falls behind by a few minutes. Whgat is the reason and what should I do?

    • @BrackenClockWorks
      @BrackenClockWorks Před rokem

      That depends on a few things. How long has it been since it was last serviced? Has anything changed as far as it’s location? Has it always run fine previously that you’re aware of?

    Are parts avalaible. I have a piece that works but the hourly chime has problems

    • @BrackenClockWorks
      @BrackenClockWorks Před 3 lety

      Best way is to find a donor movement for parts, unless it is a somewhat newer movement say from the 1980s and up.

      It depends on what model/type of clock you have. Some had this recoil type escapement, others had what are called a half deadbeat escapement.
