refreshing to see a course thats technical and not super long, and still see scores that arent crazy low
Miss having the disc being displayed for each shot.
There’s a lot of courses on tour these days that I just turn coverage on to listen to while I go about my day. This is not one of them. What an awesome course to watch!
So impressed with Heimburg's interviews, absolute professional. Mcbeth is as well but you kind of expect him to be. Incredibly polished, love the pre-round interviews and player profiles! Thanks Jomez!
One of my favorite courses I’ve seen. Nothing too crazy or flashy but fun holes that demand execution.

It's always great when Mcbeth is on the card.
It’s crazy to me that James Proctor has probably been a top ten disc golfer in the world for awhile but it wasn’t until this year that we get to watch him prove it! Hooray for the growth of the sport!
He's the reason my local courses are so tough! Seen him a few times in person. Dude can CRUSH.
Really enjoy a tournament on a course where the ability to throw bombs ISN'T a requirement to place.

So awesome to see Jomez at last filming here in the nordics! Thank you so much for taking the coverage to new levels! Would be super awesome if you would be still able to get the audio to the high quality level that we've gotten used to in your productions though. Playing a bit more with editing tools for audio (denoise, reverb etc) or using for example adobe audio enhancer could still give the extra mile of awesomeness for the next round in Norway and for the rounds in Finland as clearly you are using some more portable gear with your mics and audio right now.
I noticed the drop in audio quality too but chalked it up to having to travel with less and lighter equipment. Quality is still fine but not up to the usual stellar quality.
Yeah, understandable that it is hard to carry sound mixer and everything overseas in addition to all the essential camera gear, lets hope that guys could still get to lend one + better mics or smt along the Europe tour : )

The energy of Paul is very positive and what a champ attitude figuring out what Proctor is doing well. Also it really seems that his power is easier now, he almost matched some nuked drives of Eagle.
Totally agree. I think it’s been a good thing for Paul to mix things up this year. I’m sure he feels fresh.

I think the spotter should win the tournament 10/10 performance.
Honestly, what is the point of spotters for the most part? Unless you have a nasty super thick rough, or literally spotting a disc so players don't have to spend time looking for it, or telling a player they went OB when a re-tee is required (very few times does this come up). I mean the whole flag waving when it's 200ft in bounds is annoying to me and completely pointless. They aren't officials, nothing they wave around means shit. The players are the officials and over rule spotters all of the times. How often on coverage do we see a spotter say "it went out here" and the players say "no it didn't" and do something completely different. Sorry for the rant, but I just don't get it. Why do they wave dumb flags around like their lives depended on it, when literally nothing depends on it? Not blaming them, blaming whoever the hell gives them flags. Just stop giving them flags.
@@smtx11what are you talking about? I think you answered your own question first of all… second of all it’s customary to wave the flag just in case the players can’t tell from the tee. It’s become more of a force of habit
Anyone else feel the MPO audio commentary is much cleaner than the FPO?
I actually like this leaderboard config.. At first I didn't like seeing Gossage after 10 holes, but it kind of makes sense now what you're going for. Good stuff. Just please don't spoil the end of rounds!

Through hole two for lead card, Aaron Gossage is in second place through twelve holes. That is amazingly useful info. Thanks Jomez! I know Paul McBeth and Calvin Heimburg are changing their strategy on hole three due to this information.

Does Jomez just not know what Paul and Eagle are throwing off the tee? I don't get why we see almost all of Proctor's discs but none of Paul's or Eagle's.

All the little edits and info is awesome, but am I the only one who thinks the "live scores" should be from the same hole as the card we're seeing? Less spoilers and easier to see where everyone's at
They do this for rd1 after feedback but rd 2+ will stay "live" scoring
This has been an ongoing discussion for this year's coverage. I'm with you but the argument is that what Jomez is showing is what the players are seeing as they play live. I think it's misleading because the guys who are already in the clubhouse will fall back down the leaderboard as the later groups progress through their play and gather more birdies. I liked last year's graphics and scorekeeping better but I seem to be in the minority.
It's a step backwards IMO. They finally changed back on R1 coverage but don't have the balls to change back for the later rounds - they're dug in. It really detracts for me. Then again, some people like it better this way. There's no pleasing everyone.

I'm with you. I liked it better when they would show the birdie/par/bogie colors for the last 9 holes for each player on the card. It gives you a visual cue for how a player is doing for his round. Otherwise I loose track of the players' progress. Why do they only show their current round score when they complete the hole? It's maddening when I think they did a much better job last year with the graphics and stats.

Love the coverage. Could I ask a question? I thought it was a tradition to shake the chains each time a star frame happens in Europe. Have they stopped doing that on some European tours?
There aren't any Euros on the card. Yanks are a bit ignorant of local customs some times. I don't think they are in any way slighting the tradition, they are just overlooking the tradition unintentionally.
@@marscruz Fair point, though each of these players has played on cards where Europeans have shown them the tradition. Kind of a bummer. I like that Europe has this tradition. I've even gotten to experience it myself on the rare occasions I get birdies at the same time others do. I live in Singapore where this is also a tradition.

I wonder where it started and if it is common a practice in Norway. The Czechs do it at the Castle and I think I've seen it in Finland and Sweden. Not sure how widespread the tradition is.
@@marscruz Thanks for the response. I first learned about the tradition when I started playing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia of all places. I met a gentleman who works with "Discs to Africa" who is himself Ethiopian-Swedish. I also know some Dutch, Belgian, and French players in Singapore who honour the tradition, but I don't really know who started there. I guess I assumed with Norway's relative location in Europe that the tradition exists there also. Again, this could be exactly as you claim and there is no deliberate slight by the North American players on this card. They are probably just playing like they always do when they are together. And if this isn't a tradition in Norway, that would explain a lot.

The fact that Paul says that 407 ft. seems like manageable distance for Eagles off hand is just absolutely insane to me. I'd be lucky to throw 50ft with my off hand and I'd be very happy to throw 407ft. with my good hand. I've just been thinking lately how high of a standard these guys are held to, it's ridiculous. I know I'm the most unathletic person on earth but damn man this shit is hard to be good at and they make it seem so casual.

And the silly leader board is back to being silly. Oh well. Last round was sweet knowing scores on same hole but hey that’s just too enjoyable. Let’s compare scores on hole 2 to players on hole 12 instead. Yeah!
Yah, and the players on hole 12 are the ones who started their round earlier which means they played worst last round and will most likely be surpassed. I zone out every time the live scoring comes up becomes it conveys no information.

One round and Jomez is already messing up. What happened to adjusting the scores between holes? Don’t show a bunch of players and what their score is on some random hole. Show where the field is sitting proportionately to the actual hole you’re currently showing. You did it round one and now stopped…? Can anyone explain why Jomez showing spoilers in the scores is the right idea?
You haven't been watching the other tournaments this year, have you? This has been going on since the beginning of the season. This is what they call: Live Scoring. I hate it too. They are showing the scores as the players would live during the play. It sucks. JMHO
@@marscruz yes, I have been watching this year. I was specifically talking about how I thought they finally fixed the problem because the first round of the tournament was adjusted scoring. I was disappointed and frustrated to see that they regressed back

first round -> hole by hole scoring
subsequent rounds -> "live" scoring
Ad placement is getting super annoying lately. I have no issue with ads between every hole, but placing an ad right before someone makes a putt is just stupid, and comes across as really amateur-ish which is the opposite of what Jomez has always been.
You need to get an ad-blocker or quit watching this on your phone. It's called technology.
The live scoring thing still isn't growing on me... At least they changed the first round score display back to the hole-for-hole method, instead of pretending this is live-- yet only showing the shots of 4 players.
I'd rather be surprised with everyone else's scores at the end of each 9 holes or so and then maybe tell us what the scores is the clubhouse are, towards the end of the final round -- like the way they did post-production for 10 years that got them pretty popular...

These are the type of courses that scream Disc Golf! Not the Ball Golf courses we get stuck watching so often on US Coverage, yawn, boring. Technical courses ftw.
