All you did actually was just leveling. First in the channel rack and second with the mixer faders it was all leveling. Mixing you were supposed to show the processing you did to your sounds. Like cutting the lows on percs and melodies with EQ etc
If it’s a hard kick (like the one i used in this video), I’ll put a soft clipper on the kick (to prevent it from peaking) and reduce the volume a bit and that’s all

There’s no special dB to set your kick, just make sure it’s not peaking above 0dB
