  • Day two from our tracked adventure out West. We hit up Chappell Creek near Valemount B.C. and it was AWESOME!! Again a huge thank you to Can-am and Polaris for the use of the Maverick X3 Xds on Apache Backcountry LT tracks and the Rzr Rs1, both performed flawlessly. Now back home to wait for our trails to thaw out!! Thank you all for watching!! Hope you enjoy the video, give er a big thumbs up and leave a comment down below if ya did!

    Great video, very obvious the new Can am tracks work the best, could you add into the description the name of all the track types used. Kudos to the first timers on tracks in the snow, wow! Watching your video, I have learned that when using tracks and need to winch out of the snow when stuck is to attach the cable up high on a tree and not to spin the tracks fast this way there is lift from the winch and cable attachment location to get back up on top of the snow, and by not spinning tracks which digs the machine back into the snow a person can get a machine out of the snow whole👍😁 Great video for learning! I think I have it figured out befor I even get tracks! Way to awesome!

    A friend and I have tracks on our Can Am ATVs. In deep snow, I smelled my belt overheating and backed backed off the throttle. But my friend continued riding hard. This promptly destroyed his belt, despite having custom primary and secondary clutches. QUESTION: Do either the riders here or viewers use supplemental fans to force additional belt cooling, and if so, what is used?

    • @ostacruiser
      @ostacruiser  Před 5 lety

      Fans only work at very slow speeds. Anything after that they become a choke point for air, clean, well functioning clutches should be all you need. If it is super deep or thick then ride in low range. Aftermarket clutches do help a ton though

    • @gregparrott
      @gregparrott Před 5 lety +1

      ostacruiser Thanks for the reply and the great video. Although some people suggest it, I suspected that any practical sized 12 Volt fan would only draw perhaps 20 Watts - too weak to help much. Also, axial fans only flow well if there is no back pressure. Squirrel cage blower fans handle back pressure better. Still, drawing at least couple hundred Watts may be needed to provide sufficient air flow. (But, I'd really like a GEARED transmission)
