Thanks so much for taking the time to film for us, I know it’s extra work for you. I always enjoy all of your videos. I’m so serious Tyler your grandpa would be so proud of you and how you’ve kept his love of ranging alive.
Cali was sure enjoying that water, lol. She is such a sweet dog and so beautiful.
Here in Upstate New York we are having temps actually around the 100° mark. That’s not normal for here, although we usually have it for about a week every summer. Fortunately, the humidity and dew point are low, but even so, it’s blisteringly hot. Everything the sun shines on becomes to hot to handle. Please take care of yourself. You out in California have it a lot longer than we do here, plus not much rain. Thanks again for the updates. I was happy to see the four wheeler being worked on. Still don’t know what hoof rot is, but oh well never mind. Blessing to you and your family.

Yep, your baby bull looks impressive already! At the end, it sure looked like Cali was enjoying the water when you opened up your irrigation. On that hot of a day, any type of heat relief would be enjoyable for any type of animal…human or otherwise!

Being a buddy for the bulls sounds like a perfect job for Buddy. His friendliness and easygoing ways will probably have a calming effect on them. Side note: I have a wether goat named Buddy who performs the same function, keeping our buck company when the does are pastured separately.
Speaking of bulls, the bull calf looks great! It'll be interesting to see how he influences the herd in the future. And, sorry to hear Hank won't be making any more appearances.

Simple idea to stop wheat dust from escaping....
Take a large cloth preferably parchment or denim, cover it on the nozzle of the course wheat dump and let it down all the way into the barrel thereby getting all the dust or fine wheat particals into the barrel...

Wrapping an old T-shirt around as a guide for the crushed wheat into the collection drum and covering the drum. with a lid would help minimize the wastage to a great extent. We have a wheat floor mill and we used to do it that way to greatly minimise losses.

I have such a hard time getting good chicken feed. I have a variety of birds, mostly layers, but some meat. I found that the feed contained selenium yeast, it just about killed all my meat birds before serious research into all the ingredients showed me that was what was killing them. I switched to buying ground corn meal (I cant justify the time to grind it myself), scratch seed and a fairly expensive brand of pellet 20% layer, no selenium yeast. I used to mix it all at once, but was getting inconsistent mixing and settling. Now, I store the feed in air tight containers separate and just take a 2 cup scoop of ground corn, 1 cup Scratch and 3/4 cup pellets, daily. It feeds 15 birds once a day. They are free range during daylight only. I use a watering can with the top cut open, no spout and toss it around in the can before adding it to the food trough. The watering can gives me directionality over the pour from being attacked by the chickens. I saw a farmer do this but for ducks and it totally works!
