It depends on your interest if you want a software based job to sit in office and work on 3d modelling go for BIM or if you want to be actively involved with on site work scheduling, estimation data, work progress reports then CPM is a good option.

In some university co-operative programs, they rotate 3 months of university training and 3 months of working in a participating company. We called them rotations. Instead of a 4-yr bachelor degree, it turns into a 5-yr bachelor degree. Co-op program provides students working experience before graduation.

It can be hard for a general project Manager to work as a construction project manager since they will will be expected to have construction knowledge
