  • I install a new Saddlemen seat on the Harley Street Bob. I also adjust the rear mono shock preload setting. I researched a bunch of seats for this bike and this one was the one most recommended to raise me up a bit. Being 6 ft tall, the stock seat was a little too low for me.

    A very nice seat. I choose to stick with either harley or le pera because those tongues that protrude out from under the seat have a tendency to slide around and eat the paint on the mount it slides into.

    could be such a legend and possible take a measurement from the bolt hole on the back of the seat to the tip of the front hook thingy?? I have a little project on the go.

    Ya I narrowed the seats down to the Saddlemen Step Up and the Whiplash Speed Co Slipstream seat and I went with the Whiplash seat. I’d love to see how the Saddlemen seat feels compared to the Whiplash seat. I also live in the Phoenix area and I do the Saguaro Lake run all the time, the stock seat on the freeway is awful and at 75-80mph it gets a little dicey with that little stock seat. You’re literally hanging on to the bike at that point and it just doesn’t instill any confidence, but I’ll keep it for little short rides or I might make my own custom solo seat with the OEM seat pan.
    Maybe I’ll see you riding around, it looks like you’re in Gilbert.

      The Saddlemen is great if you make sure to cover it before leaving the bike in the sun all day. That seat gel can get hot after a while, lol.

    Man that thing clacks pretty loud when shifting. Mine dose when I shift from neutral to 1st but not like that when I shift

    What’s the weight and shock ratio?

    when you bought the bike the dealer should have gave to a wrench to adjust the shock. it came in a little bag with 2 pieces of metal in it

      I did get the wrench with the bike, but it didn't seem as sturdy as the one I already had. 👍

    How do you like the SB compared to 48? I'm in the market for my first Harley next season but I can't decide between the two. Save up a it and get the bob or buy a 48 now and be done with it.

    • @KSSTUDIOS

      I definitely like the Street Bob better. The larger tank, extra power and that sixth gear are worth the upgrade. It depends on your needs though. If you don't need to ride the highways and a 5 speed is good enough then you can save some money. Take both out for a test ride if you can. You'll know after that.😃

      @@KSSTUDIOS Cheers man! Definitely don't do a lot of highway riding especially here in Sweden I avoid it at all costs due to the wire fencing we have here. Instant death for anyone on a bike if you hit that. Madness that they still use them. Will try a few and see where I end up! 😎 but leaning towards the 48!

      Go with the Softail Standard...it is literally the same bike as the SB (but a few grand cheaper)and it just has polished aluminum/chrome instead of all the blacked out parts on the SB

      Yes, this one is a Cobra highway bar. Love this one compared to the Harley version.

    Love the street bob but imo that seat takes away from the bike's look.

    • @KSSTUDIOS
      @KSSTUDIOS  Před 3 lety +1

      Highly recommend. It's a firm seat, but not uncomfortable in any way unless you leave it in the Arizona sun all day long. That gel padding can get HOT! 🔥
