Proud Australian / Pakistani here mate.. Australia is a beautiful country and u make us proud of what you are and what you have achieved ! Looking forward to see a different celebration for your centuries against Pakistan. Good luck tiger..
Uzzie my man, where do I start The journey you’ve taken us on over the last couple years has been nothing short of spectacular. You’ve ridden both the ups and downs but at the end of the day, I reckon it was all worth it. Couldn’t be more proud of ya mate. Up the Khawajyyy!!!!!
hey usman you are really inspiring, i am really inspired by your story and am kind of in a similar situation for example aviation you did it and i will to but i also want to follow my passion of cricket would mean the world if you saw this, you are the best
*The way you displayed an astronomical amount of grit to bravely stand against quite an evident amount of racism and injustice rendered towards you - is truly remarkable.* *You were always a GREAT white ball player but they hardly EVER gave you a fair run in Australia's national T20 and ODI teams.* *And in the TESTS, they purposely kept you, in and out, of the team, they preferred Mitch Marsh over you so many times, and they kept moving your batting position up and down the order, NEVER letting you settle at a good spot - YET you kept your test batting average above 40, is tale of legends.* *And finally, when you were ABSOLUTELY THE 100 percent natural choice of Captaincy after Warner and Smith were removed, but they put a guy as the captain, who did not even qualify to be in the playing 11.* *Yet you didn't give up!* *ABSOLUTELY GREAT.* *And very refreshing to see that both Langer and Paine vanished in the dark. The truth prevailed.*
Still no White or Negro players in the Indian, Pakistan, or Bangladesh teams though eh! Which says a hell of a lot about those countries. In a majority White country, there is a larger pool of White players to draw from. So should potentially BETTER talent be overlooked to tick boxes? Or should other players be denied an opportunity to shine for the sake of "DIVERSITY"? I love Usman as a player, and he has undoubtable talent. But for every single Usman Khawaja, there are probably 50 Mitchell Marsh's in Australia, and THEY deserve an opportunity too.

Why not just pick the best XI players? If they're all of Pakistani or African decent, then awesome. We want a meritocracy. Growing up, most definitely the vast majority of guys I played cricket with where white. So it makes sense most of the current team are too. If 10 of the 11 Aussie cricketers are Caucasian, that's not the fault of selectors or cricket Australia. Just pick the best XI.
i dont think he means it that way, yes of course if the best players are white then the team will be white. I think he means he wants more people of different cultures be involved in cricket in australia.
Absolutely, Bravo. Usman deserves his place while he is on form. Colour, Creed, or Religion is SECONDARY, in Aus, NZ, SA, and Eng. However, that doesn't appear to be the case in countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, or even the West Indies, where minority players are pretty much completely ABSENT from THEIR national teams. I wonder why! 🤔
@@mryeast-ed6jb hardly think there is a SHORTAGE of BAME players involved in Cricket, in Australia, Eng, or NZ. It just happens to be that there is a far greater talent pool of White cricketers, because those countries are by far, predominantly white! If they are good enough, then they will get a chance to shine at some point, which is currently NOT the case in India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh, an issue which is NEVER addressed by ANYBODY, EVER, because it is NOT ALLOWED to happen in those countries.
Just a shame that most of Asia and the Sub Continent is STILL so far behind, in terms of acceptance of WESTERN cultures and/or beliefs, eh Usman? You think Australia still has a long way to go? Well all I have to say to that, is that Asia and the Sub Continent haven't even got started yet, by comparison. So what do you think about that? Maybe you should use your influence, and go on a mission to teach those areas a thing or two about cultural differences, and acceptance of others eh! I fully respect you, and your talent as a cricketer btw, and you are a valuable addition to the sport. But I just feel that Western culture has taken great strides over the decades, to be inclusive, and tolerant towards other cultures. But I just don't see OUR efforts being reciprocated. I don't know of any national sides that are as Diverse as Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, or even Zimbabwe. All the other top national sides, like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, are not diverse at all. There are absolutely no White or Negro origin players in those teams. I didnt want to bang on about it, but you did bring up the subject of Australia "improving" in terms of Multi Culturalism. It always seems like a one way street to me.
I'm of Sri Lankan background, born and grew up in England, now live in Australia and the most racism I get is from ppl from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka who think I'm trying to be a fake westerner and putting on an English accent. Just sheer ignorance and some weird jealousy thing. I told myself I'm not going to change who I am for these prats. They are nothing to me if they can't show me any respect
Bro problem with that term curry muncher....alot of decent white oz would ve never used it...but there was that greek macedonian lebanese italian contingent that rli abused it... i am same age as u and grew up in kogarah....heard the term all the time....hated my life...wished i was rather in war torn lanka....i am an oz citizen but dont live there anymore...
