Licensed characters (from movies, games that already exist) are purchased for real money or paid game currency
and the original characters (that the game invented) can be purchased for real money, paid game currency or the currency you earn by playing
tip: I recommend buying the complete dlc with all the characters from that dlc rather than buying just one with the game's paid currency. Save this currency to buy skins or the battle pass. this also applies to the original dlc. But if you just want an original character, I recommend purchasing with the free currency

For you to have more advantages you need to buy the characters. After purchasing, if you want this character's perks to be shared with other characters, you will need to level up that character (the character you want the perks to be shared with). When you reach prestige 1 (level 50) on a character, the advantages of that character are shared with other characters, but these advantages remain at level 1 (yellow), at prestige 2 (after 100 levels) the perks of that character are shared with all survivors in green (level 2)
At prestige 3, all characters have the perks of that character who is at prestige 3 at maximum level. From prestiges 4 to 6 you get a bloody skin for this character. In this game there are also universal/common perks that are perks that every character has for free

@@zjhinsongaming Well, in this case I recommend buying and focusing only on the original characters as they can be purchased with the currency that the game gives you as you advance in levels (iridescent fragments). Don't worry about purchasing licensed characters as their perks can be purchased individually (one by one) at the sanctuary. To enter the sanctuary/perk store, you first select a character and then in the side tab there is an icon with 4 squares forming a crystal (I'm not sure btw) that says sanctuary. Clicking on the shrine there shows 4 perks (licensed and original) that you can buy with the iridescent fragments/free game currency. ATTENTION: perks leave the sanctuary weekly to enter 4 other random ones. In the case of licensed killers, unfortunately there is no way to buy the power lol. Another thing, don't be too hasty in buying survivors because in addition to the perks that can be obtained for free at the sanctuary, buying survivors only gives you the 3d model. Assassin perks also appear in the sanctuary, and repeating, you can buy original killers with in-game money

When you buy a perk at the sanctuary, this perk is shared among all the characters you have and will have

I recommend you watch videos and tips from Mr Tatorhead, he makes explanatory videos for survivors on how to loop (looping is the act that survivors do of surrounding the same place/structure when the killer is chasing you for a while to save time and give your teammates time). If you also play killer, his videos are also good for you, as you will already have an idea of what the survivors will do. I also recommend otzdarva who makes videos about builds for both killers and survivors (more for killers), among other CZcamsrs/content creators
