I have been sewing for years, but mostly altering clothes, changing zippers, and now and again some garments from scratch... But then came the kids and my sewing was put on the backburner, but i still had that sewing dream in my fingers. And this summer, during covic lockdown i was asked to do some projects here and there. The last one was altering a weddingdress....

I stumbled onto your channel b/c now I work from home 2 out of my 4 day work week for the Fed govt. I figured why buy when I can make since I only go into the office 1 day a week. I made Simplicity 8334 (with mistakes 🤣🤣) as my first piece. I’m singing up for sew it academy to improve this new skill I acquired maybe 2 moths before turning 40 this year. Love you and what you do!!! Hopefully I could meet you the next time I’m in LA visiting my brother.

Hey Mimi, was it a simple/easy skirt to make? Or more complicated? Did you give a time frame for making/mailing the skirt out? Was the fabric for the skirt sold in unlimited amounts? I'm asking because I've seriously been considering making certain garments to sell.

I am in my 60’s but remember being asked to sew clothes for school friends - I started at about 12 selling stuff at school - it was when flared bottom jeans were all the rage and I altered loads of straight legged ones to be flared, made floppy 60’s style hats too - no PayPal or Blogs or videos then!

Mrs. Mimi! My mother referred me to your site today, and being that I am out of work due to COVID19 I took up sewing and making masks; trying to at least. Before the Pandemic, I had my mind set on going to a local fabric store for sewing lessons. It wasn't really going to be 'scheduled friendly' for me due to my hectic work schedule. Long story short, I really did kind of gave up all hope bc my sewing machine started acting crazy; or maybe it was something I did 🤷🏾♀️😕. Coming across this video really gave me the encouragement I need. I’ve wanted to start my own clothing line for quite a few years now. I can sew by hand but I don’t know how to use a sewing machine.. I’ve been looking for a “mentor” but it’s hard in my city. Everyone is so selfish.

Paypal is scary. They can send your money back to the buyer and even if you have proof can side with them. Unless you're a huge well known company with power, they can be unfair
Coco Pops I’ve never found that to be true but everyone’s experience is different.
I haven't used them yet myself but a lot of ebay and sellers with their sites have had so many issues where people kept the stuff, put up a complaint and won while the seller was left without their item and money. Paypal doesn't even care if the product is returned but do care if it is shipped properly.
I would love if they and other pay companies would only allow court orders to return money. If they want the money back they should be brave enough to go to court and sellers should be able to provide proof and contracts just to make it fair... if they change in future and don't just remove money from sellers accounts then they would be used much much more.
I've been doing business with PayPal for years and I've never had a problem with them. Never.
They will also freeze your money just because. They did it to me twice for no reason.
