Doctors like that make me want to scream! You guys are great, responsible parents! By the way….you are absolutely right about steroids. Rebound fare-ups are much worse than the original infestation and are really bad for long term use. Time to find a new allergist. There are some good children’s hospitals in Florida. Nemours in Orlando, John’s Hopkins out of St. Pete and St. Joseph in Tampa plus other hospitals in Ft. Myers, Hollywood, and Jacksonville but Shands in Gainesville is amazing! Good luck!

Greetings to you, I am one of your viewers from Iran. My niece is also a girl of the same age as your little girl. Her body was constantly red and no doctor could help her. Until an experienced Iranian doctor told us that one day Apply the oil of a plant called (black seed) 3 times on the red parts of his skin. Wow, he was cured after a month.

Stay strong, you know her better than anyone else and her strongest advocate. 100% agree with your decision to not give her steroids. I too avoid them as much as possible, for my kiddos.

My baby boy had a bad eczema all over his face, arms, legs, back, it was everywhere. It started from 4 months and continued till a year. He is same age as Isla and i felt so bad when people in my family would call it vitiligo since he had hypopigmentation wherever eczema would heal. It’s a shame. My baby’s pediatrician recommended changing his formula and switching him to a hypoallergenic formula instead. We stopped giving him dairy in his diet and have recently started adding it back. We use CeraVe baby wash and moisturizer since it has ceramide which is good for the skin, protects the skin barrier they say. We also give him a lot of probiotic drops and mommy’s bliss brand has an amazing one. We changed his laundry detergent and made him wear cotton clothes only. We also kept applying hydrocortisone ointment only when he had bad flare ups and also gave him cetirizine syrup in worst case scenarios. All that helped my baby a lot, now he is eczema free. I wish you and your family the best.

I work in NHS although I'm not an immunologist but I will suggest to use topical steroids in an episode of flare up there are different strengths of steroids available start with the minimum available and whether it's allergy or eczema flare up mean u have to treat medically to make it go away early. I felt so bad for Isla aka boss baby wearing socks on hands (Bless her!) , hope her problem is sorted out asap. Best wishes!

It has something to do with weather and climate. I live in Seattle, WA. My son is now an adult, and he has had eczema his whole life. It flares up depending on the time of year. During spring and summer, it is worse, and it goes away fall and winter. It is better when it rains, which is most of the time in Seattle. You are in Florida now, so it could be because of the hotter climate. My friend who has was from Florida, and she has told me that it is better here in Seattle but does not go away completely.

If you are comfortable using it, try applying coconut oil with some fresh turmeric in it. Consider trying in a small patch of skin and see how it works for you. I use the coconut oil from Costco + fresh turmeric from any of the grocery stores for my son. Has worked wonders for us. Good luck and prayers❤ God bless!

A medical doctor will be more, judgy with anything you do. But if you found someone who does holistic care, like a holistic doctor, that might help tremendously. I hate when doctors do that. I’m glad you have more control than I do. I would have given that doctor a piece of my mind. But that’s how I am. Because I am a medical complex person myself, I hear doctors telling me all sorts of things, and sometimes I have to be blunt with them. I would also express your feelings about that appointment, and towards the doctor to the groups you’re in, and even the hospital/office the doctor works in. It might not do much, but you might be surprised how many others might have experienced the same thing with the same doctor. Stay awesome. ❤

My heart goes out to Baby Isla...allergies are so difficult to find out and treat especially in small babies. One has to figure out first what's causing the allergy in the first place. Your approach is good as in trying no fragrant lotions, detergents etc as these are most times the cause. Keepher well hydrated and use pure virgin coconut oil for massage if you can find one. Alongwith some good quality Aloe vera gel....hope she gets well soon. It's very heart breaking to see the poor baby suffer. Lots of love and healing to Isla.❤❤

I hope she can outgrow her eczema. So with her being 1, maybe try a local apothecary for raw, unfiltered honey. Also, I heard you saw she has a special detergent, but everyone’s clothes would need that same detergent. I recommend taking her to an allergy and asthma specialist if you don’t feel like your person listened. Having eczema is part of a triad associated with allergies and asthma. It could totally be environmental since you all switched states, totally possible. I have extreme allergies and the patch test didn’t work. I had about 9 pokes x3 rows down one arm, and all became inflamed the next day. It was absolutely miserable and I was 25. I don’t recommend it. They told me I had a dog dander allergy and I’d had him for over 10 years. 😒. I would honestly look into your dogs as well because the products used to upkeep the property/grass they get in could possibly be an allergen to Isla. Best of luck in this journey to you all!!!

Kaylie I'm so sorry the Dr was so rude. I know it's frustrating trying to figure out how to make it go away and stay away. I've got it so bad too on my arms and feet. I've been to Dr after Drs and still no answers. My grandma was the same way as Isla itches so bad she would scratch the blood out. We all would have to tell grandma to stop scratching it. She would starch it so it will bleed really bad. But one thing me and her found out we are allergic to the sun. Plus I break out really bad when I get the radiation medicine that they have to give me to do the pet scan and MRI on my brain. But I have to do the scans to make sure my cancer doesn't come back to my brain and the rest of my body. But my feet we can't figure out how to make the eczema go away It looks like red dots all over my feet. I've been to one dermatologist Dr. I got a big bottle of some kind of cream that cost me and insurance both $50 each I used it twice a day. It was a waste of money if it didn't help at all either.
Yal is in my prayers with going through all this. Plus poor Isla knows she needs those socks to stop the itching. I feel so sorry for her. She's too young having to go through all of this. Give her and the other girls hugs from me. Im 😢 crying 😭 writing this. God bless your family, love from Virginia.

I've read that it is an inflammatory condition and related to Candida overgrowth in the digestive system (Candidiasis). So high sugar foods, highly processed foods, breads, and even very sweet fruits can exacerbate this condition. An anti-candida diet can help keep the overgrowth in check and bring back balance to the gut's microbiome, eliminating eczema and other topical flare ups. Topical remedies like creams and lotions will NOT get to the root of the issue. Please, please, please do some research around Candida overgrowth and how it impacts the body. Then talk to a physician before moving forward.

I have worked as a nurse in dermatology and using steroids on babies is not that easy. Their skin is developing and using steroids on them can have them get addicted to it, and it can even make it so bad that her skin can withdraw from it. Steroids are great in many situations, but not every day all the time for years... Thats when you need to find the root of the issues.

2 points from this video; Healthcare system in America is probably the worst and “Google” patients are the worst kind of patients.

Don’t blame you for not doing the steroids, but it doesn’t sound like the doctors you went to tapered off the steroid dose which definitely will make the flare up worse than originally. Only know this because I have pharmacists in my family and they kind of get annoyed when doctors don’t taper steroids near the end of a cycle because it will make any symptoms worse if you go cold turkey. Not saying you should give steroids another try.

It is usually tree nuts that cause allergies. At least you have one answer with the peanuts. Checking labels is easy enough. But its unprofessional that she blamed you, when you have been so worried. What about the allergy kits they sell online, can they be used for babies. I am sure Isla will grow out of it anyway. Love and hugs. Nicole

Agreed. If that doctor could behave that way towards one family or patient, they're probably behaving the same way towards multiple patients. They need to be reported.

Take her to a functional medicine doctor. They will find the cause
