      @@raeandrews1925 Look forward to more, I have a hard time keeping the white of the paper...white /and just seem to get going and over paint then spend time removing the paint once I recognize how much I was unable to just STOP rather than keep going mixing colours to watch what happens.

    • @raeandrews1925

      The key to that is not wetting the whole paper Cynthia. Be strategic and work methodically. I work very fast for the demos, but I pace myself more when I work on my own. You need time to think, Watercolor gets away from you easily.

    Rae, lovely! I am just a beginner in this form of art. I´ve had many years break. I would love to hear about the process you experienced when developing your skills and your unique style. I also like not to control, I am into very abstract forms but my paintings are rather messy... (absolutely it is lack of skill). And yet, I do not choose to go the safe way. Well, who knows...

      @raeandrews1925  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Jane, thank you for your comment. I have always tested my brain on new strategies with my art, no matter which medium I choose, I paint in them all.
      I think it’s healthy not to get into a safe area with our painting, it will be the kiss of death I feel.
      So I paint many genres, in many ways. Sometimes I send myself a little crazy doing so, but I learn all the time from one painting to another.
      Have fun on your journey of discovery.

    • @raeandrews1925
      @raeandrews1925  Před 3 lety

      You are correct.. if you have painted over the pencil marks it’s very hard to remove them. I use a very faint pencil mark to begin with.. Hopefully if those pencil marks are on the still unpainted areas I will be able to erase them as I go.. I think it’s best to try and erase them even slightly before you paint over that area.. I hope that makes sense.
