wow... it's so awesome. and the colors at the end are the most amazing thing i've ever seen in my life! once, during a thunderstorm, the sky over my house was deep red for a few minutes (max. 5min) and then the sky became blue again and the thunderstorm was over! it was so impressive.
Timeline of the storm: 1. Storm builds and blows away. 2. Clouds go in opposite directions. 3. Storm comes for fight. 4. Storm wins. 5. Storm sleeps after hard day. 6. Storm goes Tsar mode. 7. Storm flees. 8. Random clouds outta thin air. 9. Orangeeee. 10. Green light kills eyes. The end!
One might think that the wind usually blows in one direction but after seeing your video of the storm clouds, I can see that the wind actually blows all over the place, swirling, changing direction . . . amazing.
Woah ... that was incredible. I want to do that down here in South Florida. Been here 21 years and the sky here still amazes me during thunderstorm season.
that's really fast, I love the veiw of the thunderhead (anvil) after the storm passed. It's wild to see the clouds moving in all directions. You get a good understanding of what happens in the sky to cause thunderstorms.
another amazing video, i just love to see how clouds can come and disapear and take all kinds of shapes. just look at the mushroom cloud arround 50% of the movie.. amazing. thanks and good luck to you
I like how you can see the two fronts colliding, the upper clouds moving away, but the lower clouds moving toward...illustrating perfectly why thunderstorms (and tornadoes) happen.
Brilliant! as others have commented, 20secs in, amazing mushroom cloud out of nothing. This would be a great teaching aid, as it demonstrates almost perfectly the formation of a storm.
Quick question, Did you keep it on a constant exposure, or did you use the automatic in-camera metering? I'm torn between manual mode and aperture priority @ f/11 for my time lapse shots. I like to capture it over night and then the through the day, so I think that a manual [constant] exposure mode is out of the question.
time lapse rocks! It just shows how active & changing the world is despite how still it seems to us humans, literally the earth is changing as we speak. But I'd love to see a long term continental changing time lapse video

Beautiful! I love the way the clouds form after the storm has passed, like a blast of bubbles in water... the last shot is just stunning :)

You can see the clouds moving in the different directions very clearly -- looked like a ripe day for tornadic activity. GREAT video!!

hey, one question, what program you used to do, other than after effects? and what program you used to eliminate the flickering? thanks!
