The last shot of them lying back to back is a touching testimonial to lasting companionship, love and the wonderful people at BCR. The staff and volunteers there are amazing. That is the biggest surgical tubing I have ever seen, and that was some *impressive* suturing. I hope Cam feels better soon, and that he doesn't have any further complications like this!
Razzlewolfflight I was also admiring the suturing. I doubt there will be a discernible scar. I've had two major surgeries and luckily I got good surgeons both times. I can't see the scar on my neck anymore because it was sutured cleanly and blends in with the crease in my neck. I can't see the abdominal scar for, um, other reasons. XD
(Yes, I'm overweight. Working on that.)
Razzlewolfflight Yes, but the size of an endotracheal (windpipe) used depends on the size of the trachea, the amount of space between the vocal cords and how far it is from the mouth to just shy of where trachea splits to form the right and left bronchial tubes. If it goes into a bronchial tube, then only one lung becomes ventilated and that can present some serious medical problems.
Ladyhawk Misses Gabby If you can take two sheets of toilet paper and suture them together, end to end without tearing them, you have the ability to suture anything together. You then just need to learn how much tissue you get with the suture needle, how far apart you place each suture (for skin, about 1/4 inch apart, what type of suture you use, ie interrupted vs non interrupted and a few others.

Aww I'm glad you kept them near each other when Cam was healing. That would have broken their hearts to not be around each other for that long. And Zabu was so worried about him! Her reaction to seeing him back after surgery is too precious!

Dear Big Cat, you are phenomenal!! I saw Cameron and his Zabu a few times myself. You do the medical handling beautifully and compassionately and I thank God for a Sanctuary with committed people like this!! Cameron is old and a cancerous mass is never good. It was a beautiful sight to watch their reuniting and that great Flemmen Response from Cameron! I hope they have many more happy years together!

thesuicidefox And Sageofbattle: This is anesthetic "hangover" (which I have experienced). It is that period of time when most but not all of the anesthetic has been metabolized by the body. I remember coming out of an oral surgeons office, at the door that leads into the waiting room, I walked into the door frame 3 times before the nurse escorted me thru the door.
