- This program features an unforgettable Christmas concert, performed at the Berlin Schauspielhaus just after the German reunification. Performing traditional Christmas music in a very intimate atmosphere are the Tölz Boys' Choir, the Güttler Brass Ensemble, mezzo soprano Doris Stoffel, the Zagorsk Monastery Choir, tenor Siegfried Jerusalem, and several other famous groups and soloists. Pieces are enhanced with beautiful Christmas images. The finale is a moving ensemble performance of Silent Night, Holy Nights.

I came away from Germany with many memories: its newspapers, the sturdy family, the, the literature, the museums,, but especially the music, [Bach] at Christmas, but if one isto sum up all this, including German Weihnachtszeit and the church service in the Lutheran Church, it is 'Es ist ein Rosentsprungen'

This is wonderful! I was fortunate to hear Hermann Prey in a lieder recital years ago in NYC. He felt cold (I heard him say so to his wife) but sang like an angel on fire! I have always loved his personal warmth & sense of humour, esp in performances w the gone-too-soon wonderful tenor & friend of HP’s Fritz Wunderlich. On can feel wonder, awe, in this performance experience. Vielen Dank an alle!

Dieses Konzert habe ich leider damals nicht mitbekommen, obwohl ich im selben Jahr nach Berlin gezogen bin. Aber wir waren alle sehr müde, weil das Jahr sehr (für uns positiv) aufregend war. Um so schöner, es jetzt bei CZcams nachzuhören. Vielen herzlichen Dank und eine gesegnete Adventszeit.

Ich finde Sie keineswegs kleinlich - jeder hat ein Anrecht auf korrekte Schreibweise seines Namens. Deswegen: Die Mezzosopranistin heißt korrekt Doris Soffel (nicht Stoffel). Das ist ja schon fast (unbeabsichtigt) beleidigend!
Ansonsten: Sehr berührend, so viele Künstler, die bereits verstorben sind oder nur selten oder gar nicht mehr zu erleben sind, hier in einem großen Ensemble versammelt zu hören. Danke vielmals fürs Hochladen - ich hab es sehr genossen! An alle ein frohes neues Jahr !
