I decided to take some time to softwash the first home my wife and I bought, which we now run as an Airbnb. The project's highlight was the cedar shake wash, where we used a downstream mix (roughly 1.5%) of sodium hypochlorite and a mixture of oxalic acid to serve a knock-out punch to the mold and mildew that had accumulated on the cedar shakes.
