What an extraordinary woman. The life she was forced to live at such a young age made me cry. She was put in positions completely beyond her control and yet was able to make a life for herself and raise a family. She is truly an inspiration.

The sound is too low. Vmcan barely hear anything at all. So many of the videos are like this.

Maybe turn up the volume? These videos were recorded almost 30 years ago.

@@mrbatman4robin I've got everything up as loud as it will go. About all of them were 70s-90s but done just have very low sound. And most with the low sound, you can gear the interviewer ok, but the person telling their story sounds far away and faint ad if the mic isn't close enough. I hope something can be done. Alot of them are that way.

@@deborahdean8867 I agree that many of these important testimonies have poor sound. Sadly I don't see any solution given that they are 25+ years old.

Those working at CZcams are probably antisemitic and doing this on purpose!

Why is the audio so bad? I have to turn it up almost all the way to hear what they are saying and getting mostly feedback. Oh well.

What a wonderful woman but so unfair for her to be in charge of caring for several younger siblings at the age of 9. It's great her father got passes home from Dachau but it was irresponsible to "have her mother pregnant every time he came came for a visit" as Ellen put it. When they didn't have the money to leave; the mother should have immediately tried to get a job to help the family.
Then her father abandoned her after going to Australia. Thank God her foster father was a kind man.

I think that the antisemitic CZcams has lowered the volume to ALL of the Holocaust survivors' testimonies!! Even with headphones and with an excellent hearing, it's extremely hard to hear, especially this video!!

If there was money why did they not provide more food.
