Lachie Orchard reckons you’ll have to hang on because you’re gonna get wet aboard his rebuilt Haines Hunter V146 powered by a Mercury Pro XS 115HP tiller. MB01YEBK0H50IOY
Picked up a 146 at Auction for $200 two years ago while sitting at a pub in Mooranbah. Finally got started on it and live 5 minutes from Moreton Bay Marine Services... looks like I'll be bugging them soon too! This is some awesome inspiration!
All boats are rated to a certain hp, it when rebuilding you can make the transom thicker and stronger therefore increasing max hp. Can also do thing like putting an underfloor fuel tank up the front of the boat to counter the weight.
I want to know more about the raptor lining on the hull, I have an old savage lancer 5.3 aluminium and want to coat the bottom with bed liner as it's old and starting to deteriorate especially up front after decades of running up on sand, but I can't find anyone doing or info on doing it.
@@adamthorn597 I'm in Sutherland mate South of Sydney. What are you looking at charging for that? if your even near me. I talked to one guy a couple of years ago who was a licenced raptor line shop and he wanted an absolutely stupid amount of money to do it.
Imagine doing 42 Knots, sat on a school chair, tied to a surfboard. Pure send. What a legend.
I agree. Nuts . Just awesome
The captain needs more boats and more builds like this!
It's good he has a giant set of balls to counteract the top-heavy engine.

Genuine question. You don’t have laws down there which engine you can have depending on boat size ?

Ali might need an etch primer first, Raptor is pretty easy to apply with a gun, gives a slicker finish than Bully liner.
Perfect opportunity for The Captain to do a before and after comparison video if you do it.
Where are you at ? I will do it for you

More money. Never a truer comment…….. Get a budget, double it and then add another 50%….:D
This is stupid. I’ve never wanted something more
No life jackets? Do yourself a favour and get prepared. That boat, the wave jumping, with that heave motor, and 500 lbs of crew…
