In my most recent games, Germany has been DEMOLISHING the USSR and CRUSHING Britain in Egypt and then the rest of Africa all within the first 2-4 turns of the game. Since Germany's Northern fleet is typically the first destroyed, I've found the German southern fleet (and transport) a great surprise tactic for invading Britain (sometimes successfully) catching the Brits completely by surprise. It's nearly always inevitable for Japan's fleet to become weaker than the US fleet, but if Japan is aggressive enough at pushing into Asia early on (3/4 success rate), the US is typically too late to really harm the Japanese Empire.
I have found that I can usually take out Britain’s north fleet and their crusher and sometimes their west fleet as Germany if I use my land based air forces in the attacks to support my ships. Then it becomes much harder for the UK to rebuild their fleet, unless the US builds a fleet to give the UK a couple turns to build without the units being destroyed. It is also really nice to have control of the seas as Germany at least as breathing room while you focus on the Soviets. Love the video, got a couple really good ideas I want to try.
everyone likes playing the axis in this one because the game way makes them way overpowered, giving them way too many starting units and making the territories in russia so large that japan can get to the border of russia in just a few turns...
How likely do you think it will be to succeed taking England with Germany at turn two. If you move all your six fighters to either north-western Europe or France while taking the cruiser at gibraltar, you have an airforce of six fighters and a bomber. I would boost this by constructing two more bombers. By moving your transport and battleship towards Gibraltar, it will be in reach of a transport to England, also allowing you to take Gibraltar to prevent counter bombing. This allows you to move in two transports with a tank and a soldier. If your Northern fleet survives, this also allows you a naval bombardment for your cruiser and battleship. You would still have 16 IPC's to invest in reinforcing the Eastern front. If the UK sees your move coming, it would have to invest a lot into land defense, meaning it cannot build many ships or reinforce India. If this is the case it would still be fine, your planes can still reach much of the Eastern front. I'm curious what you think of this strategy.
That's possible, but a lot less likely if England is paying attention. In all likelihood, Russia will attack Ukraine so you'll have 1 bomber and 5 fighters to work with. If you build 2 more bombers, your Eastern front is going to lack numbers and Russia is going to apply pressure quickly. If you do succeed in taking England that may not be an issue. However, if you don't then you're in a lot of trouble. If England is paying attention, it'll likely destroy your Baltic fleet with its starting air force (building at least 1 fighter on its turn to replace the 1 any losses sustained). This leaves you with 1 transport. If the Allies are still worried, the US can move their destroyer in SZ 11 to SZ 13 as a blocker.
I have found an UNBEATABLE Allies strategy. 1st buy for UK: (India) 1 battleship, 1 sub, 1 infantry It keeps Japan at bay round one, and starts a dominating sea presence in the south. When USA builds a formidable force more north, the result squeezes Japan. I even sacrifice my USA navy to steal valuable pieces from Japan, simply bc the USA can ALWAYS rebuild.

A UK that's producing 40+ IPC's (which after they grab Borneo and East Indies, they will be, is very tough to stop.
