The reason she doesn't kill people in the shows and movies (in fact, none of them really do despite endlessly doing things that should) is because then they wouldn't be quirky evil dangerous, but serial killers. The fact they stick to harming rude or annoying people (for instance, yourself) would not change that. Then, Wednesday actually loses, which subverts the narrative expectation. Wednesday's mistake was being impractical and aggressive. She assumed that Bianca's ego masked some ineptitude, and so Wednesday focused too much effort on humiliating flair while Bianca focused on pragmatic tactics. Every misstep Wednesday made was by trying to match her opponent's energy instead of forcing her opponent to match hers--Bianca is bold and aggressive, Wednesday is always subdued and precise. By taking the aggressive approach, Wednesday opened herself up to positions that made Bianca's hits possible. I also like that Wednesday's "psychopathy" makes her an outcast. These Nevermore cryptids are fairly conventional people so a normal human with inhuman psychology unnerves even them. unless of coruse it's a property dispute. allowing someone not under her control to mess with someone she considered HERS is something she woudn't countenance. that doens't mean there's actual empathy.
The lesson for Wednesday: Just because her mother and father fence to flirt doesn't make her an expert. Although she *is* good, there are people who are *equally* good and then it just comes down to the question of who makes the first mistake.

Many audience misunderstood Bianca here, they thought she was bullying Rowan because she's a crass or blunt. In reality she gives him respect by acknowledging that he isn't helpless. Infact Rowan is one of the most powerful people in the school with his powers and it's possible it is the other students, or the audience who underestimate him, not Bianca. How is Bianca a villain when during episode 1 all she did was: - make some remarks about the new girl based on gossip that she killed someone. Actually Ajax even said Wednesday ate the people she killed so why is no one saying Ajax is a villain? - Bianca only accepted Wednesday's duel and fought her fair and square at fencing. - Wednesday approached Bianca after Rowan died and asked her to report it. Instead of dismissing her, Bianca actually helped her and went to report to Weems and not questioned Wednesday's honesty whether it was nonsense. I am not saying she is purely good as well but considering her a villain during this time, people are exaggerating. Rowan actually tried to kill Wednesday twice! is he not the villain then? Because im not hearing anyone say something about Rowan.

I don’t mind Bianca. She isn’t like Wednesday’s enemy or nemesis, she’s just her rival/competition. They don’t get along, but they don’t hate each other or try to go out of their way to hurt each other. Unless it’s in a competition. I actually think they have an interesting dynamic, I could see them becoming frienemy rivals. Like one of them gets in trouble and the other saves them, and they have a friendly moment before going back to there aggressive retorts. Like an “I hate you, but I don’t want you to get hurt.” kind of thing, I think it could have a lot of potential.
I love how Wednesday fighting style gravely changed after she has challenged Bianca to a "winner draws first blood" challenge. Wednesday fighting style becomes more circular and contains some elements of Wu Shu. Especially at 2:24 you can see how she does that somersault jump to dodge. Uncle Fester taught her very well!
Wednesday really broke that stereotypical hero that doesn't get backed up and tries to act as the Revenger Person, Bianca didn't down bad Rowan, she actually recognizes him as a good fighter. Her mentality/mindset reminds me of Saitama, who couldn't find an enemy at his level to face him equally and finally be great challenge to him, just like Bianca. Wednesday's problem was to overconfident herself on humiliate Bianca more than just win the battle in a fair and not exaggerated way. And another thing: The villain here is Rowan, who tried to kill Wednesday already on the 1st episode due to her mother's fear of Nevermore's "Fall" predicted on her visions.
Finally a battle where the confident hero doesn't completely outclass and embarrass their adversary, but loses like a (relatively) human being could. Feels refreshing. Although Wednesday is right about many things, she's not right about everything and might overestimate herself.
pretty wild that this is one of the best fencing scenes in modern day media considering it's painfully obvious that noone involved in this scene has ever fenced or watched anyone fence or has any idea what fencing is. Here's what i noticed on my first watch. 1. If you walked through a piste like at 0:07 you would get thrown out instantly. 2. 00:20 patch is on the wrong side of his jacket literally unforgivable (kidding) 3. Games aren't played to 3 points, why does every director think that 4. Just continue ignoring the electric devices we've been using for like 60 years and pretend like all fencing is dry fencing 5. using epee masks for sabre but since there's no electricity doesnt matter i guess 6. Black lamees are only for teachers and masters, not edgelords 7. If anyone even joked about playing with their masks off the teacher would throw them out, literally what is the point 8. Why would anyone ever make removable tips for swords they would get sued so hard 9. Don't get why every fencing scene has to have some dumb twist to make it cooler, it's already a swordfight just make it look not dumb and silly. Unfortunately all of them look goofy as hell including this one. Its still pretty good but the bar is so low. 10. I'm not an expert on right of way but pretty sure doing a triple somersault loses priority 11. Also love how whenever fencing is shown they're using sabres but playing like its foil (ofc they're not actually fencing at all and just stage fighting but still) Thanks this has been cinemasins, sin counter: 11
When Wednesday said “And you must be the self appointed queen bee. Interesting thing about bees, pull out their stingers and they drop dead,” I was like “damnnnn”! That’s probably my favorite line. Amazing roast lol!
Wednesday might as well have said, "Oh, you're the stereotypical antagonist character that turns up in all these types of shows; just cast differently."
Just watched the clip, I love how Thing is portrayed, such attention to detail with e stitches and the guy who was beaten at fencing in the beginning using his inhaler..!! Brilliant, I thought this was at the cinema and now i find its aseries on Netflix gonna have to watch it
How this scene would play out in real life: Wednesday: [wears black gear into gym] The other people wearing black: aight, bet Everyone having unique parts of their gear (flags, names, stamps, etc.): aight, bet Wednesday: [walks across mats while people are actively fencing] The fencers on the mat: Ayo, what the heck? rude. Wednesday and opponent: [keeping their points everywhere other than on their opponent] All the fencers on the sidelines giving constructive criticism: Hey, stop flinging your blade everywhere, keep the tip on the opponent! Wednesday: [continuously turns her back to her opponent] Ref: [issues her a black card after several reds] Wednesday: Winner draws first blood Ref: Like hell they will. Young lady, please leave my gym.

I love Xavier in this scene !! When he first notices Wednesday, he takes off his helmet !! And he staring at her when she wins the first round !! She lost but he still admired something about her !! 😊😊
The fist two bouts are perfect. Sadly, after removing the masks it's all spinning and no fencing :( The final hit is clearly out of distance, because Bianca at the end presents her saber point-in-line and it's clearly too far from Wednesday's face while after getting hit none of the girls moved their feet.
@Tin Watchman What? No, the moves they used in the first two rounds could be extended with moves that are prohibited by fencing rules, like, cross-stepping, fleche, grapling... instead they forgot all their fencing moves and started spinning like a witchers xD
i just finished watching the whole series and i thought it was great. i would love to see a rematch between wednesday and bianca but then become this unstoppable team with xavier, enid, and eugene. i love those characters.
Something tells me Jenny wanted Wednesday and Bianca to quote Zorro & Elena from "The Mask of Zorro". It only seems fitting since Catherine Zeta-Jones (Elena) was playing Wednesday's mother (Morticia) in this series. Bianca/Zorro, 'I do not have time to give you the proper instruction.' Wednesday/Elena, 'I have had the proper instruction since I was four.'
You would be carded or banned if you tried this in a real fencing club. The only way this would be acceptable is if it was coach approved. Likewise Wednesday is wearing a coaches outfit. Unless it was purely for practice it would not be allowed. Don't get me started on the kicking........
I mean yeah she's only 15-16 years old so of course she still has some to learn, though it's mentioned in episode 5 that Gomez started teaching her when she was little W: "how many fathers hand their daughter a fencing blade when she's five years old?" G: "your sabre strokes were an essay, in perfection" It's a really sweet moment between them
This series is worth watching again on Halloween. My generation is playing these characters now. Of course, I have to mention that in this month too this is our tradition too, I have some things in thought.🖤
I remember reading that the stunt double for Pris in Bladerunner was a man, the bit where she tumbles and grabs Deckard in between her legs, I`ve slowed it down and i cant tell...!!
I watched an interview yesterday - Jenna Ortega does her own stunts! I was shocked. Not a lot of actors/actresses will do their own but Jenna did all these moves !
I don't know which "sword" fight is written worst. This or that red room fight from the Last Jedi. Those useless spins when they could just as well strike their opponent instead are really frustrating
There's a long comment from someone whose name starts with T explaining that there may be a reason in the story why Wednesday did those silly things and how that lead to the experienced fencer winning by not doing such silly moves.
@@johndododoe1411 The problem is that Bianca, which I assume you called an experienced fencer, does those silly moves too. In 2:17 she had a clear shot but decided to spin anyway. Not to mention the final strike which Wendnesday had plenty of time to block.
@@shymaniac Tell that to the person whose name starts with T. They wrote that long comment about how it works in the story and isn't a filmmaking mistake.
It was admirable for me that the creators of Wednesday broke the cliché of the protagonist beating her rival in her first confrontation. And frankly I deduced right that Wednesday would lose to Bianca in that first duel, I unconsciously deduced that way.
I'm starting this series tonight, and I really hope that this scene continues on where Bianca laughs but then clutches her lower back, and it focuses on Wednesday's foil as she brings it into frame and blood drips off the tip.
some small inaccuracies: - Refs/coaches don't say "en garde" to make fencers put on their mask, they are expected to wear them before that. "En garde" signals the fencers to assume the ready position, with "Allez" signalling the start of the bout. - Yes, if you fall it's your fault even if the opponent somehow "tripped" you. That's why people in fencing are taught footwork first and actual fencing later. Even with that, falling doesn't automatically means the opponent won, it simply stops and resets the bout - Even in first-blood-drawn fencing duels (according to old military officers' manuals, which my father did study when he was an Army officer) you are not allowed to either show your back to the opponent (so no twirling) nor you are allowed to step off the lane even with one foot. That would be considered ungentlemanly and you'd lose the duel by default (which would be even worse because it would mean you weren't a gentleman officer) - "No tips" wasn't a thing in military duels, no rule said you could only slash, which is why even in old military duels, even if you didn't have full masks, you had protection for torso, neck and eyes - No, even in old military duels kicking was not allowed - Sabre fencing doesn't count legs as targets so they wouldn't have had to guard for attack against them. The allowed areas are head, torso and arms. Swords (epèe) instead is free-for-all, but you can only strike with the tip. - A standard olympic fencing sabre doesn't leave a clean cut like that (nor does the sword or rapier), they are designed specifically not to. Sure, they can leave a very nasty bruise, maybe some surface scarification in addition, but you can't make that kind of cut - Being struck with a fencing weapon like that hurts like a bitch
Rules that ban moves for being too powerful or dangerous weaken the realism of the training. Because the ultimate goal is to win against enemies that obey no rules, whether in war or private fights.
@@johndododoe1411 woah ok mr. BladeMaster69420 careful not to cut yourself on all that edge, and remember to take your trenchcoat, fedora and complementary Amazon katana when you leave. We started to put rules in fencing when it became a sport, and fencing became a sport because in the era of machineguns, air bombers, artillery and hand grenades you don't even have the time to heroically unsheathe your fine sabre that your fellows need to pick you up with a mop and bucket
Fencer here. The second part of the duel is not realistic to the sport ofcourse but the first one is kinda accurate; their footwork that is. However the wear uniforms suitable for epee swords (one of the three swords in fencing) but their swords are sabers. Their play style also looks more like saber fencing and the fact that a point was counted when the right-side hit the blade with the side of it on top of the mask is also a sign of saber play. So I think they are playing a saber game but with epee clothing
@@maggiesullman3804 yeah. Ofc, just saying in case someone was wondering. It is generally nice for a show to be accurate. It looks complete. Also I was talking about the rules of fencing and they could use trained stuntmans
Wednesday really treated this place like a prison. First thing to do is beat up the strongest one there to exert dominance. Didn't work in this case... Been on the backfoot ever since, always needing to keep one eye open.
I do fencing, I believe it’s pretty hard just like other sports but it’s very fast which can be confusing to people who go on with their daily lives. When I started off fencing I cried blood and tears because I was not quick enough to take down anyone I went against. My reflexes were slow. But I have now improved and I think fencing is usually about reflexes. My opinion. Foil is the hardest one I had been through. Frankly because my weapon had seemed to always hit the leg or head. But Epee is important with defence. I mean all are but defence is not my strongest skill. Keep in mind fencing is not about hurting each other
Where do I start? They wouldn't be using pointed tips and they absolutely would not be allowed to fence without their masks, *especially* if they were - for some reason - using pointed tips.
Tbf, this is in a school for outcasts, so maybe they use more dangerous instruments as a normal thing. In the original Addams Family, Wednesday and her brother used to light off rockets and grenades for fun. Actually, they do that here too in the scene at the lake.
Cool scene. Wish they did actual fencing though. Especially since this takes place in modern times. Anyone who does actual fencing doesn't fence like that. Still, cool scene.
You can clearly see how much French and Italian modern fencing is. I presume (maybe wrongly) those matts don’t allow much room for circular movement, meaning there’s 0 destreza in this.
Fencing sabres (the type of sword they were using) don't work like that. They aren't sharp. It's pretty hard to draw blood unless the blade actually breaks. Also... why did they only go to three points? No one does that? A short bout is to 5, a regular bout is 15. And what was up with them wearing épée gear while using sabres? I guess they weren't fencing electric, but their masks would still be the electric kind. And the footwork? Cool looking, but not very good from a technical standpoint. - A fencer
Completely agree with this, other comments seem to like the fencing but it's so inaccurate. but on the electric point, épée masks are cheaper so if you never do electric it would just save money.
@@alexandercowley8090 I have seen hema bouts with those masks and a variety of blade types, with an umpire calling the points. Look up the Lee Smith vs. Richard Marsden video from years ago. Two saber masters and no umpire in an actual training hall.

unless of coruse it's a property dispute. allowing someone not under her control to mess with someone she considered HERS is something she woudn't countenance. that doens't mean there's actual empathy.
The lesson for Wednesday: Just because her mother and father fence to flirt doesn't make her an expert. Although she *is* good, there are people who are *equally* good and then it just comes down to the question of who makes the first mistake.
That was also the lesson for Bianca, the first point was beautifully executed
Actually it was awhole bunch of people that sat in a room that wrote this for fictional characters for a paycheck the lesson learned is making up dumb shit will get you paid
They could easily fence again, and with a different outcome.
Plz even riccis didnt do any physical work. She is a flake and dork. She at the camp in family values she didnt do jack but run her mouth. Now they want Wednesday the new blk widow
Why should there be a lesson in everything?
Many audience misunderstood Bianca here, they thought she was bullying Rowan because she's a crass or blunt. In reality she gives him respect by acknowledging that he isn't helpless. Infact Rowan is one of the most powerful people in the school with his powers and it's possible it is the other students, or the audience who underestimate him, not Bianca.
How is Bianca a villain when during episode 1 all she did was:
- make some remarks about the new girl based on gossip that she killed someone.
U
I still don't like Bianca lol, the "misunderstood villain" just doesn't work for me. I still gotta finish the series but my opinion will remain the same for now.
Edit: Hello, I have finished the series now and I still don't like her LOL, and just to clarify, I don't hate her character, but I don't like it either, I'm more neutral towards her, and ignoring how biased this commenter is towards her, she still did some nasty things (and I'm not talking about things *towards* Wednesday but in general) and that's what I don't like about her.
@@skarlet9104 yeah but how is she actually a villain when she just retorts back at wednesday's blunt remarks?

@@skarlet9104 okay that would be better. I would also consider her as a grey character. Just like Weems, The Sherrrif, Ajax, etc. Villains would be the killers, The monster & Rowan for trying to kill Wed twice.
"Your face finally got that splash of color it so desperately needed."
And that smile 😂 I love Bianca.
Right she's so beautiful
I don’t mind Bianca. She isn’t like Wednesday’s enemy or nemesis, she’s just her rival/competition. They don’t get along, but they don’t hate each other or try to go out of their way to hurt each other. Unless it’s in a competition. I actually think they have an interesting dynamic, I could see them becoming frienemy rivals. Like one of them gets in trouble and the other saves them, and they have a friendly moment before going back to there aggressive retorts. Like an “I hate you, but I don’t want you to get hurt.” kind of thing, I think it could have a lot of potential.
@@glazier6040 think you didnt finished the series yet, cuz they become sort of it later.
Bit racist like
@@deaconworcestershire93 It's not racist. It's because Wednesday is inhumanly pale, and only wears black.
Yes. I believe that trick she did to dodge is called an ariel

She lost but sometimes the point is to challenge the unchallenged
It's not really about winning the fight but to proof to ourselves we're not coward
Because coward they don't live they just there
Bianca probably has found her worthy opponent
Finally a battle where the confident hero doesn't completely outclass and embarrass their adversary, but loses like a (relatively) human being could. Feels refreshing. Although Wednesday is right about many things, she's not right about everything and might overestimate herself.
pretty wild that this is one of the best fencing scenes in modern day media considering it's painfully obvious that noone involved in this scene has ever fenced or watched anyone fence or has any idea what fencing is. Here's what i noticed on my first watch.
1. If you walked through a piste like at 0:07 you would get thrown out instantly.
2. 00:20 patch is on the wrong side of his jacket literally unforgivable (kidding)
3. Games aren't played to 3 points, why does every director think that
4. Just continue ignoring the electric devices we've been using for like 60 years and pretend like all fencing is dry fencing
5. using epee masks for sabre but since there's no electricity doesnt matter i guess
6. Black lamees are only for teachers and masters, not edgelords
7. If anyone even joked about playing with their masks off the teacher would throw them out, literally what is the point
8. Why would anyone ever make removable tips for swords they would get sued so hard
9. Don't get why every fencing scene has to have some dumb twist to make it cooler, it's already a swordfight just make it look not dumb and silly. Unfortunately all of them look goofy as hell including this one. Its still pretty good but the bar is so low.
10. I'm not an expert on right of way but pretty sure doing a triple somersault loses priority
11. Also love how whenever fencing is shown they're using sabres but playing like its foil (ofc they're not actually fencing at all and just stage fighting but still)
Thanks this has been cinemasins, sin counter: 11
These two would hate to admit it, but they’re more alike than they think.
I mean they end up being friends
As a fencer, this is hilarious 😂😂 they have no idea what they're doing
I love how Xavier is just standing in the back watching.🤣cant wait for second season
The way she looks at Xavier is funny and dead serious 😂
This is one of the best scenes of the show
We all expected Wednesday to win but the writers subverted our expectations by making Bianca win
When Wednesday said “And you must be the self appointed queen bee. Interesting thing about bees, pull out their stingers and they drop dead,” I was like “damnnnn”! That’s probably my favorite line. Amazing roast lol!
But Bianca landed a pretty good one in the end.
Bianxa4: "Oh you must be the psychopath they let in!"
Wednesday: "And you must be the self appointend queen bee. "
UGH THIS IS MY 2ND FAVOURITE QUOTE
Wednesday might as well have said, "Oh, you're the stereotypical antagonist character that turns up in all these types of shows; just cast differently."

I admire the rivalry between these two
This is an unrealistic fencing match.
It's honestly so cringe isn't it, and that's before they even started fighting.

How this scene would play out in real life:
Wednesday: [wears black gear into gym]
The other people wearing black: aight, bet
Everyone having unique parts of their gear (flags, names, stamps, etc.): aight, bet
Wednesday: [walks across mats while people are actively fencing]
The fencers on the mat: Ayo, what the heck? rude.
Wednesday and opponent: [keeping their points everywhere other than on their opponent]
All the fencers on the sidelines giving constructive criticism: Hey, stop flinging your blade everywhere, keep the tip on the opponent!
Wednesday: [continuously turns her back to her opponent]
Ref: [issues her a black card after several reds]
Wednesday: Winner draws first blood
Ref: Like hell they will. Young lady, please leave my gym.
Just when we were prepared to hate Bianca, she pulled through. Love her!

Sorry about the spelling Dyslectic
I love Xavier in this scene !! When he first notices Wednesday, he takes off his helmet !! And he staring at her when she wins the first round !! She lost but he still admired something about her !! 😊😊
The fist two bouts are perfect. Sadly, after removing the masks it's all spinning and no fencing :( The final hit is clearly out of distance, because Bianca at the end presents her saber point-in-line and it's clearly too far from Wednesday's face while after getting hit none of the girls moved their feet.
I think professional fencers substituted in the first two matches.
@@dabouras Still choreography in the last one is terrible like ameteurs were not only doing it but also inventing it.
@Tin Watchman What? No, the moves they used in the first two rounds could be extended with moves that are prohibited by fencing rules, like, cross-stepping, fleche, grapling... instead they forgot all their fencing moves and started spinning like a witchers xD
They didn't reset to the middle of the piste after the first bout.
yeah, the fact that it’s never that long and that they never go back in position stress me out 😅
I hate how much I love this show. I would hate to see more seasons!
Stop hating
I can't wait to see their rematch in the future. Even Bianca herself is looking forward to it.
Oh my God!! Her full toothed grin at the end!!

i just finished watching the whole series and i thought it was great. i would love to see a rematch between wednesday and bianca but then become this unstoppable team with xavier, enid, and eugene. i love those characters.
I have to say that this girl
is the coolest Wednesday Adams yet. Imagine how much cooler she would be if she was cast as Emily the Strange. ☺️
Or maybe Alice Maness Return
Something tells me Jenny wanted Wednesday and Bianca to quote Zorro & Elena from "The Mask of Zorro". It only seems fitting since Catherine Zeta-Jones (Elena) was playing Wednesday's mother (Morticia) in this series.
Bianca/Zorro, 'I do not have time to give you the proper instruction.'
Wednesday/Elena, 'I have had the proper instruction since I was four.'
The way she learned all of that from fencing is incredible its amazing how she learned it!
You would be carded or banned if you tried this in a real fencing club. The only way this would be acceptable is if it was coach approved. Likewise Wednesday is wearing a coaches outfit. Unless it was purely for practice it would not be allowed. Don't get me started on the kicking........
He isn't hopeless, he's lazy
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE😅
Although Wednesday had quite the teacher, being Gomez who's notoriously an expert fencer, but it seems Wednesday still has much to learn.
Wednesday underestimated her opponent. For all of her arrogance the other girl took Wednesday seriously and didn't mess around.
I mean yeah she's only 15-16 years old so of course she still has some to learn, though it's mentioned in episode 5 that Gomez started teaching her when she was little
W: "how many fathers hand their daughter a fencing blade when she's five years old?"
G: "your sabre strokes were an essay, in perfection"
It's a really sweet moment between them
i cant wait for season 2! we need it asap..
This series is worth watching again on Halloween. My generation is playing these characters now. Of course, I have to mention that in this month too this is our tradition too, I have some things in thought.🖤
Wednesday stunt double, Jenny Ayumi, is incredible. ❤❤❤
Look up Jenny Ayumi
The irony that her last name is Sunday and she's in a villain in a show called Wednesday.
I would have loved to have seen Wednesday use Gomez's finishing move on Tully from the first movie
second season immediately pleeeeease
fencing with saber on epee attire is crazy
Wednesday's all out , win or lose, attitude is something else.
I don't know which "sword" fight is written worst. This or that red room fight from the Last Jedi. Those useless spins when they could just as well strike their opponent instead are really frustrating
Agreed. It's ubiquitous now and always ridiculous.
Not to mention the final strike which Wendnesday had plenty of time to block.

as a fencer... why are they fencing foil with sabres😭😭
this fencing style is ancient
It was admirable for me that the creators of Wednesday broke the cliché of the protagonist beating her rival in her first confrontation.
And frankly I deduced right that Wednesday would lose to Bianca in that first duel, I unconsciously deduced that way.
I'm starting this series tonight, and I really hope that this scene continues on where Bianca laughs but then clutches her lower back, and it focuses on Wednesday's foil as she brings it into frame and blood drips off the tip.
That's a sabre, not a foil.
I absolutely love fencing ⚔️🗡️🖤
Definitely works on your coordination, cardio and the ladies love it too 🖤
I'm sold!
some small inaccuracies:
- Refs/coaches don't say "en garde" to make fencers put on their mask, they are expected to wear them before that. "En garde" signals the fencers to assume the ready position, with "Allez" signalling the start of the bout.
- Yes, if you fall it's your fault even if the opponent somehow "tripped" you. That's why people in fencing are taught footwork first and actual fencing later. Even with that, falling doesn't automatically means the opponent won, it simply stops and resets the bout
- Even in first-blood-drawn fencing duels (according to old military officers' manuals, which my father did study when he was an Army officer) you are not allowed to either show your back to the opponent (so no twirling) nor you are allowed to step off the lane even with one foot. That would be considered ungentlemanly and you'd lose the duel by default (which would be even worse because it would mean you weren't a gentleman officer)
- "No tips" wasn't a thing in military duels, no rule said you could only slash, which is why even in old military duels, even if you didn't have full masks, you had protection for torso, neck and eyes
- No, even in old military duels kicking was not allowed
- Sabre fencing doesn't count legs as targets so they wouldn't have had to guard for attack against them. The allowed areas are head, torso and arms. Swords (epèe) instead is free-for-all, but you can only strike with the tip.
- A standard olympic fencing sabre doesn't leave a clean cut like that (nor does the sword or rapier), they are designed specifically not to. Sure, they can leave a very nasty bruise, maybe some surface scarification in addition, but you can't make that kind of cut
- Being struck with a fencing weapon like that hurts like a bitch
épée* but the rest is gud :D Thanks for bringin us enlightenment
Rules that ban moves for being too powerful or dangerous weaken the realism of the training. Because the ultimate goal is to win against enemies that obey no rules, whether in war or private fights.

Why i love bianca...
Um, there's no point critiquing this because it's just a show. It doesn't have to look so accurate. Neither of them are professional fencers, smh...

This was an Amazing show, brilliant
Netflix: "People like the show! Quick someone announce its canceled!"
I just seen the first episode. I impressed
So, I have some experience fencing. And I love picking apart this scene, seeing what they get right, and what they get wrong.
@@MYFAVORITES5 Yeah I can see them doing that, but not a school allowing it. The world around them should act pretty normal.

Just watched all episodes of Wednesday great I l laughed and cryed alot the best 💋❣️💯
