I think that the people trying to get Mimii back with ayo truly believe that the only way Mimi and ayo can get into the final four is if they're together, so they're trying to convince mimii and ayo that there are still feelings there between them, so they can be in the final four with whoever the Islanders think are the other top three couples. Because it seems all of the Islanders on every island have studied the formula of Love Island and seem to think that you have a good couple, you get close to telling them you're closed off, you go to casa amor, act a fool, have a tragic recoupling after casa, then you get back together for the win, and they know that if ayo is in a relationship with Jess, and Mimi is in a relationship with Josh, you know they don't want both of those couples in the finals. But they have had ale and Mimi there since the beginning so maybe they're trying to help them do "the right redemption arc /back together" thing.
unfortunately I fear Mimii suffers from what a lot of the girlies suffer from.. liking the men you have to chase/prove yourself to. at best, they can be cool as friends. the nonchalant can be cool/laid back BUT that’s not what Ayo is/has been to her. Ayo has proven he doesn’t like her, he’s said she’s not his type, will always looking for another option he deems more suited for him etc. and Ayo isn’t necessarily missing Mimii, he’s missing her not questioning him so he was able to skate & talk in riddles, Jess is forcing him to communicate/man up when Mimii was happy to accept crumbs and the bare minimum.

In the After sun exclusive the boys go first the challenge and Josh kisses Grace and gives terrible reasoning as to why and Mimii doesn't react well. Also the Islanders tell the producers who their choices are before the challenge, so both Josh and Mimii were determined to kiss who they were going to kiss
