Probably the most concise comparison between Humanscale chairs around the web, and I love how every single important detail, even the Freedom headrest action, and the World mesh seat lip, are pointed out. Great work

I’ve had my liberty chair for about 6 years. It’s a phenomenal chair for larger people(I’m 6’5). The only drawback are the arm rest pads which deteriorate after about 5 years and they begin to tear. You can order replacements for them though. The mesh back support is the best I’ve ever had. I would like to try their freedom chair to see how it compares.

I’ve had the Humanscale Freedom chair for nearly three years and have been extremely happy with it. It’s very easy to use and the recline function is very smooth. As you say, it may be a bit more limited in making adjustments, but to be honest I find most office chairs with their multitude of adjustment options very fiddly - the simplicity of the Humanscale concept is so much more appealing.
It does mean you should ideally try one out in a store to make sure it suits you though. I got mine during the pandemic in summer 2020 as I realised working from home was going to last a while and our previous cheap chair just didn’t cut it when you need to sit in it for a full working day. Unfortunately wasn’t able to go to try one out as stores were all closed, but the store I ordered it from did accept returns.

I'm shopping in the used market, and have found a liberty for 200 and different world for 300, I'm going to be using it for studying mainly. Would you recommend any of them?

Looking at the Freedom or Liberty. Does the fabric on the Freedom get hot? Also, which one would be a better fit for 6'2 guy?

If you're someone who gets warm easily, I would stay away from the memory/gel seat -GK

Those mesh backs look amazing, but the lack of adjustment on these is off putting.
