Guys I'm loving your vids... I know that knee knocking feeling when you know it's the 1! I've been blessed and managed a few over 30lbs now but it's taken me 15yrs to get them. Keep up the effort and can't wait to see more of your adventures. Tight lines lads

Loving the back log since I’m a channel noob. The production values are seriously good, a real pleasure to watch.
You are both likely aware, but Chew Valley Lake is a water worth trying to get on for crocs, plus I’ve seen some ridiculous trout come out on whole herring. Things may have changed in recent years and I’m unsure of how well it’s fished in the 9\10 years since I was on it, but it’s worth trying to get a boat.
A good friend was a ranger there and he was absolutely adamant there were a number of fish around the British record and a couple more that absolutely smash it. Being a trout water run by an old boys club, they don’t like the pike angling/anglers, but their fuckery is worth enduring for the potential. Peace

go for it man, you can also live bait for them. thats one way of definitely knowing pike are in a certain water, using the same rig as the lads are using in the deadbait rig but with one treble hook on a live roach, bream or perch depending on the size
ofcourse if the perch, roach or bream are big then ofcourse put them back but the odd sacrifice of a youngin for the pleasure of some good pike action is no danger, its what nature intended haha
You might have to go to northern Colorado to catch pike. Or Montana and North Dakota

My fishing expectations: this video
What actually happens: my rod breaks, boat sinks, line is fucked up and i lose 20 lures because of rocks in the bottom
And I loose a 20 pound pike because I have a bad hook hold

What happens to me: get to lake, set up, cast out into huge lake, hit the only island in huge lake and get my brand new £23 never before used lure stuck in a tree. Proceeds to snap line. Think "FML" and realise i've only got one small old lure left in my tacklebox. Blank for the rest of the day. Go home annoyed.

@@Pop013 lol. I hear ya! I dont pike fish often so thought i'd buy a brand new flashy expensive lure for a special trip kind of thing. Lesson learnt. Thanks for the tip though.

I must have watched this video over 20 times at this stage. I remember the first time I saw it I didn't know who you guys were but when I saw the excitement on your face when when netted that monster I subscribed instantly. I used to pike fish a lot when I was young but gave it up when I moved to the city. 2 years ago I bought a house in the countryside and your videos inspired me to get back into it again. I've been pike fishing again for the last 2 years and I'm (excuse the pun) absolutely hooked again. Thanks for reigniting the spark and my love of Big pike fishing. You guys are putting out amazing videos and are an inspiration. Keep up the good work lads. Greeting from the west coast of Ireland. I love pike fishing and spinning for perch I’m ten and have caught a 10 pound pike and and 3 and a quarter pound perch we fish at our wakeboarding lake we catch a lot under the jeti someone there caught a 30 pound pike
Nice bro same there's something about light perch fishing with tiny lures and spinners but the big pike on lures are incredible as well 🐊🎣🎣

Yessss been waiting for this video for a while now. Pike fishing with lures on a bait caster is probably my all time favourite type of fishing. Such good shots in this video really well put together. Suprisingly enough the records are only like 6 pounds different and when it comes to fish of that caliber it really does not matter whether its a 63 pound pike or a 69 pound muskie

Yeah, some waters put in a blue dye to halt weed growth..doesnt look that nice but, its choice of the management. I prefer the rake.

I was fishing for pike but got a 1.4 meter catfish I'm surprise my hook was strong and big enough

I realize my comment is about a year late, but I have been going back through from first video to current video picking out some to watch or watch again. This one sticks out for so many reasons. Great editing for sure. The still photos towards the end help to show the massive girth of the trophy catch. The video tells such a great story of pursuit and persistence. Absolutely amazing work as always Gents. Carl's emotional explosion was just beyond epic. Epic greatness lasts forever.

Absolutely great your videos are a joy to watch, I brought my 4 year old son fishing last week for the first time and he cought a good perch and a very small pike it made our day first time iv been fishing in 12 years! we are going to go fishing now every Sunday 😁

Great stuff. 40 years ago I did a similar thing and hooked and landed a 25lb pike on a sprat deadbait first cast.That was a very big pike then, still is now of course. But I bet there’s less people had a 30lb pike in the U.K. than a 50lb carp, so very well done Carl.
Never ever get stuck with a single species approach and you will enjoy your fishing forever. Carp aren’t everything and it’s much better staying active and relatively warm hunting pike in the winter months. In fact most carpers back in the day that I knew switched to piking in the winter. It was much more fun!
