About 10 years ago, when I was a SU demonstrator, I had a SU guillotine that looks exactly like your Tonic guillotine. It had the removable handle and extender on it. I loved it. It worked like a dream! Sorry I ever got rid of it, but I decided to downsize all my supplies a few years back, thinking I was done with it (no room, no time, etc.). Now I'm back to cardmaking, and I'm kicking myself for getting rid of so much.

Thank you! I've been really wanting a guillotine cutter, but I've been procrastinating on purchasing one. It's so hard to know what to get with so many on the market! I was wondering what the Tim Holtz was like, and you're the 2nd person to recommend it. Thank you so much! Now I know what I'll be buying :-)

At first I thought it was something I had been doing, but with many more attempts I have figured out that it's the trimmer. I think it's not lined up right. Thanks for sharing your honest options on the different trimmers! I totally enjoy you input, and your talent!!!

The best trimmer I've ever bought has to be my Cutterpillar Crop. Yes it was expensive at £79.99 from Create & Craft but when u see how it works & all the reviews. It was a no brainer for me. You'll never need to replace blades again as it self sharpens. Love it so much I'll be buying the larger version this year sometime - the Cutterpillar Pro. I also bought the Cutterpillar Glow. Love both products xo

So glad you did this review! I have a Fiskars trimmer which cuts ok but, I’m a hobby Stampin’ Up demonstrator and couldn’t wait to get the Stampin’ Up one. I hate it! I use mostly Stampin’ Up cardstock and get very few cuts with a blade. This started right out of the box. Then I bought another better Fiskars, but you do still have to replace blades more than I would like but nothing like the Stampin Up one. I read lots of reviews trying to find the best trimmer and bought a Swingline guillotine, but, I have trouble getting a straight cut. Then I bought the Cutterpillar pro. I still feel like I can’t get a straight cut. Maybe I just need to practice. I wish I could get the Woodware one, but I live in the states. I may have to look into the Tonic. Thanks again for an excellent review!

Hi Ann,thanks for the tips on these ,I admit my stampin` up trimmer is not great,I have noticed that even changing the runner AND the blade you will still get that strange line, and sometimes I find it bunches up the card stock and just tears it, I loved my fiskers trimmer but lost it during my house move and have not got around to getting another yet. I do like the look of the woodware guillotine and the Tim Holtz one, so I think I might be getting me the woodware one.

No, you are not alone with having a lot of trimmers Ann, I think we all have been in search of the perfect trimmer. lol Trimmers like the SU one that have the same kind of blade will leave that edge on the cardstock. I don't like that either. Plus they dull pretty quickly. A rotary blade or guillotine trimmer will give the best cut in my own humble opinion and are self sharpening. Loved your review Ann!

Hello Ann. Another wonderful and practical video. I have a comment on the Woodware trimmer. Yes it cuts beautifully, but when you want to cut between 5" and 6" (where the arm comes out) then I find my card sizing isn't cutting accurately. There is a gap after 5 5/8 and before the 6" mark. I have only recently purchased it and feel disappointed that I have to keep measuring the size again via a ruler. I see other trimmers don't have this gap. Jo xx

Is Woodware still making this trimmer? I'm in the U S and have been trying for months to order one. Amazon says they don't know if the trimmer will ever be back in stock. Thank You for the review.

It just figures! I knew as soon as I saw the Woodware trimmer that it wouldn’t be available in the U.S.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the level of premium products have gone down hill but pricing continues to go sky high, ugh.

I think you have the older SU trimmer? The new one is so much better! But you do have to change your blades to keep a good sharp cut. I have a Cricut one which I like too but the score blade is not included. I’m definitely looking for a good rotary style. I get close to purchasing one then I read the reviews and 2-3 will hate it and I change my mind. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Seems like people either love or hate all cutters! LOL 😂 thanks for this great info!

Hello Ann, I'm Claray, I'm from Spain, I've seen your video of guillotines because I want to buy one. I have the woodware one and I am delighted with it, but the cutting guide broke and I can't get replacements. I wanted to ask you if where you live can you get them?
    Thank you so much.
    All the best.

You are not alone, I have over 14 that I can think of straight off lol 😂 I can only blame madness! I’ve got most of what you showed lol. I got the Tim Holtz half sized one its great. I can’t remember the names of all I have but it’s always been on a search for the perfect trimmer!!!

Positively Papercraft emmmm, not sure, I think I could find something lol I’m going to get rid of loads though cause I can’t craft for having too much, but the thing is, everything I have were all bought for a reason, and they have all been used (apart from the stuff I’ve bought while I’m stuck in bed). I’ve just found a bid sweet jar full of strings of really good crystals, so.....I’m hoping this boots coming off next week, but it’s finding the energy to do things. I’ve just sorted out die cutting machines, I’ve got nine! But that’s getting reduced to three!

Ann Littler are you doing a rating on them ?

    • @craftylittlerthings
      @craftylittlerthings Před 5 lety

Tracy Marshall Hi I’ve not thought about it, but I might do some in conjunction with Ann, I’m sure she will be up for it. But it won’t be for a couple of weeks as I’ve not long had a op on my leg and just starting intensive physio, I am disabled so it is going to be really hard on me. Most of the trimmers I have I’m getting rid of along with an awful lot of craft stuff, so I will maybe do ratings on the things I have way too much of. To let you know how I have so many, I am 60 and been crafting since I could hold a pencil, I also travelled a bit as I was in the army, so bought things for on the move. If you want to sub to my channel, I will probably do something like that in a couple of weeks. xxxAnnxxx
