    Another great video. I dig the way you break down the process into stages and layers. I struggle with direct alla prima and much prefer to work this way. Looking forward to seeing the finish piece.

    Nunca habia visto pintar restregando el pincel en vez de a pinceladas. Interesante metodo. Muy bonito el resultado.
    I never seen painting by rubbing the brush against the canvas instead of by brush strokes. Very interesting method. Very nice results.

    I get a stretcher frame and then glue a piece of hardboard to it. Then I stretch the canvas over that. No more canvas wobble or lines from the central support.

    I admire the composition and the softness in the gesture and the fabric. I would love to learn more from you how to get rid of the stiffness in the postures which I not only find in my own but in most drawings online all the time.

      Maybe because we feel stiff as well, if we learn to flow better in real life we might flow in drawing.

    Nice work. It is smart! Remember me the old Renaissance masters. I have a question. In the first layer, for preparing the fabric-canvas, I have seen that the consistency was thick.     Love just about every painting you've done. I'm curious how you would develop this painting beyond what you have shown in this video. The reason is that the atmosphere in contrast to her left ear seems to funnel upward. Was that intentional?

    Please tell me about the angled mop you toned the canvas with. I liked the idea of beginning the painterly textures and strokes even at that early point. I always learn something from you, sometimes it is even about painting but often it is about life itself. Which is the language of art. Hope all is well.

    Just wondering, do you glue your canvases to a panel after or stretch them? When you stick them to the wall, so you iron or stretch them before or just smooth out and stick with tape ? I was hoping to use a wall in the way you have shown

    I was taught to do the underpainting in one color usually in like Burnt Sienna. What is the difference of adding white like this to the underpainting? Did old masters add white like this?

    I always get confused as to when to add a medium. Not many artists share that. This is important because the first time I did am oil painting, I used so much oil on all the layers it took a year to gully dry lol. If not more.

    Rarely does anyone use raw umber as much as you, one of your favorites ... What do you use to speed up the paint drying process?

      @@michaelangelo5580 if you paint in layers, try the first layer to be as thin as possible and with as little oil in it, apply the second layer when you are sure that the first layer is dry enough ...
