Yes, thats new technology. My, Dutch, 22 year old cabin sloop has cables and hydraulic steering. I can repair all those things myself with only a wrench and a bit set as screwdriver. The change of it breaking down is far less then this new systems. Although I find this new technology fantastic (joystick steering etc.) I’m very happy to be able to solve problems myself when underway. But, it’s good to see that there are mechanics who know all those new systems and can repair them!
Good grief! These boats should come with Sea Tow memberships cause I have no chance of fixing anything. Also, I wonder how long it was from when owner called about this problem to when you showed up to fix it. 😮
Lol. I agree. It doesn't take too long for us to come out and diagnose as he bought the boat from our dealership. We only work on boats we sold now so we can take care of our customers better. Seems to help. 😊
Hey Justin, on my twin verados 2021 280 vantage the jpo when I press heading button it engages and seems like it working but wander off abit but I also noticed the led light doesn’t come on? Any idea what can cause those issues
It sounds like a bad joystick but the only real way to know is to look at it on the laptop. You would have to watch the communication between "can" H and P. Might have to have a shop look at it.
