This is because when you slaughter the civilian population; cut off food, medicine and water and fuel with sheer brutality and no compassion. What it does is breeds a whole new generation of hate and rage and thirst for revenge.
You can not use bombs and bullets to destroy terrorism. You can dismantle the orginazation but not the ideology. You have to change the hearts and minds of the people.
Israel lost there object back in Oct when they decided to relentlessly and brutally just bomb the living crap out of the civilian population.

To those who say we'll what else could Israel do. They could have gone in with ground troops and used primarly ground troops the out right bombing the living crap out od the city. The ground troops have been far more effective then the bombs. This way the ground troops could worked toward getting civilains out harms way and providing an area for Palestine to be safe and to get humanitarian aide.
Would this be easy and with out risk no. But doing it this way would have helped garner some good will between Israel and Palestine; especially if Palestine see IDF soldiers dying in attempt to help the Palestine civilians.

You are also resorting to the Dresden defence where Germans accused British forces of killing a lot more of their civilians. History told us Britain was never prosecuted for Dresden and U.S. was never prosecuted for nuking Hiroshima. Why? Because the aggressors of WW2 were the Axis Powers.
The history of 1930-1945 is being repeated from 2006-2023. After all, the Hamas regime has the following traits:
1) Massacred its political opposition within a few years after it won its first election.
2) Killed and executed minorities including LGBT people.
3) Taught the Gazan children how to hate an ethnic group at SCHOOL, courtesy of UNRWA whom they are part of. UNRWA is not the same as the UNHCR in terms of goals so best to defund UNRWA.
4) Groomed the young Gazan boys into becoming child teenage soldiers.
5) Attacked a country first after having more than one year of ceasefire between between them making them the aggressors.
6) Killed/Executed civilians belonging to whom they attacked that were begging for their lives to be spared by gunfire or bladed weapon when there was no possibility of cross-fire, mistaken identity, or collateral damage (which collateral damage only applies to when explosive weapons are being used).
7) Receiving heavy retaliation for their aggression resulting in more civilians on their side being killed than whom they attacked.
I humbly ask people to read and educate themselves on Geneva Convention Articles 51 and 57 which helps one understand why the Dresden defense is not an accepted political view. Also note there is nothing about proportionality here, and it does not place women's and children's lives as being more important than men, rather it attempts to distinguish between a combatant (those engaged in warfare) and civilian. Hence in the case of child soldiers, they are treated as combatants while children who aren't soldiers are non-combatants.
This is an exerpt of Article 51.
"7. The presence or movements of the civilian population or individual civilians shall not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations, in particular in attempts to shield military objectives from attacks or to shield, favour or impede military operations. The Parties to the conflict shall not direct the movement of the civilian population or individual civilians in order to attempt to shield military objectives from attacks or to shield military operations.
8. Any violation of these prohibitions shall not release the Parties to the conflict from their legal obligations with respect to the civilian population and civilians, including the obligation to take the precautionary measures provided for in Article 57 ."
