Ive been binge watching these videos. Im becoming ovsessed with flight training but seeing Bliz' progress has brought tears to my eyes. So touching to see how far he has come. What you do is so important! Good job to Bliz' Mom too. She has shown so much patience and love. A great team effort. Thanks so much for what you do!!
When I use the blow dryer my birds get into their water bowls to bath.

The umbrella cockatoo that I had (“Charlie”) would hold out his wings to allow me to spray water under his wings. He loved it.

I’d use proximity to address the treat aggression. Treating at the edge of his reach to prevent the lunge. He has to be careful to not loose his balance while taking the treat. Everything up to the reward is part of the trick. This includes how they take it from you. He very well may have just paired aggression with bigger treat.
I have birds that love baths, some like to be misted and some like the shower.
He's super cute though. 🥰

funny, my birds have a bathing bowl, and they only seem to bathe when it's cold. may be instinct since in the wild they will bathe when it rains (and thus it's colder). so, if the bird doesn't want to bathe when warm/hot, try on a colder day!

Hello Birdtricks I hope this finds u well my lovebird is afraid of hands but not really he only acts scared when his cage is in the room if we take it out he will follow us do you have a idea what to do??
I have the bottle and aloe. My Kiwi (CAG) isn't a fan of any spray bottle so, since I received the BT one (love it...btw), I have been gradually introducing it. She tends to want to bathe every few days in a dish I fill daily with clean water and leave on top of her cage. She will also drink out of it. SO, the question is (finally), is the aloe safe to drink if mixed in a water dish and, if so, how much? This is a 8x8x8 glass dish...like you might use to make brownies. i don't want to waste a whole bottle if it's not a bath day! Lol I do realize they will invest some aloe while preening but there's a big difference in getting some droplets and taking big gulps of water. Thoughts? PS...since I'm not misting her often (yet), I haven't added the aloe because I don't want it to go to waste there either. Thanks!

Jamieleigh being a pensioner I didnt really want a bird, but one of our tenants moved out owing rent leaving behind Sid, a fairly young budgie.
It took a while for him to settle and bond to me, but he will not accept training treats, he prefers to be fussed, neck scratched and given audible good boy etc.
He is on a diet which our vet recommended and his weight stays around 1.3oz and he loves his veggies
I don't expect much from a budgie, but Sid flies to my hand by calling his name, plays retrieve the ball and a few more game related tricks.
He did escape into our high walled garden but as soon as I went outside he panic flew straight onto my hand.
If training without treats, clickers (he don't like clickers at all) etc should I just carry on as I am doing at the moment, or try something else,,, he doesn't seem to have any bad habits to speak of except for going into his cage at bedtime, I have given him a climbing tree (bird safe) and he seems happy sleeping their.

I had a parrot and he liked to get on my hand and let me ;put him under the shower. . After he get good and wet I dried him with a hair dryer sitting o the shower rod.
My male U2 loves baths, but my female U2 doesn’t she tolerate being perch and spraying her but not a full bath like sink or perched in shower. She attempt to fly off, or does at times if she get a hint bath time. My male U2 no problem.

I've been trying for nearly year to get my budgie Floki, to bathe he's having none of it. Water available at all times, tried misting above so not to upset him but not a sign of a bathing response. We're in the UK so outside is unlimited in summer. Any ideas would be appreciated.
My P'let will only bath occasionally by misting hanging upside down in the shower. I offer hook on baths, lizzard water dishes and have a cat drinker fountain i leave running for him, he'll ignore the bath unless it is dry with toys in it and lizard dish altogether, and only drinks from the fountain. Sigh
Dont some people let their birds get under shower water is that not good for them or does she strictly wanna use the bottle

My male U2 every time he hear the vacuum he dance and throws water on himself wanting a bath. That trick actually works.

I take it aloe is not toxic to birds. It is to dogs and cats. I would love a list of what is safe and not for all pet animals. It is hard to keep track.
I just learned that there is a latex layer in the outer layer of raw aloe that is toxic, but the guts of the aloe are not. So if you smush a leaf, those fluids will mix and the aloe wont have the best effect. That's why it's better to buy a processed aloe or separate those yourself if you can.

Sometimes a spray bottle is less intimidating for the bird plus the spray bottle that birdtricks has in store have aloe in them which is good for the bird’s feathers
