Is the system in this video using a F3 black box or one of the upper-tier units (F3X/F3XL)?
how much storage space does bathy mapping use? will leaving it running to build up a big data base require a room full of hard drives?
Not at all. 500GB SSD is plenty. A fisher with 'a lot' of mapped data would typically have ~40-120GB database. That said, if your were highly migratory, you could opt for a larger drive, but that is very rare (perhaps for Megayachts etc).
