The Orc thing really gets under my skin more than anything else TBH. There's a callous hatred that seems to emanate even from text when they write it. There is one odd and completely unrelated upside to this. And as of this writing, there’s said to be a massive Kab/Fab assault on Chasov Yar ongoing.

I'm pretty sure Ivanivske has already fallen. When the Russian MOD claimed that they had seized 5 villages in the month of March (Nevelske, Marinke, Orlivka, Toneke, and Ivanivske), the Ukrainians disputed this, claiming that fighting was still underway in Toneke and Nevelske. Notice the non-mention of the other 3.
The only reason that Ivanivske lasted as long as it did was because of the ridgeline to the north of the village, where Ukrainians held the high ground. The ridgeline fell the day before the MOD claimed to have seized Ivanivske as we have geolocation of Russian troops being bombed by the Ukrainians on the ridge.

I think that Russia still has huge stocks of weapons left over from the former USSR on its territory. This almost outdated Soviet equipment, as well as military equipment that is already being produced in independent Russia, allow Moscow to reduce human losses. That is, you can lose old equipment, but this allows you to save the personnel of the military, especially experienced fighters. And most importantly, the idea of "the best defense is an attack" causes significant damage to the enemy both mentally and physically. And such an initiative in the attack gives clearer data on the location, number and ability of the enemy and allows Russia to strike more accurately at important targets..
