My dryer went out and came across one of derricks old videos. I said fuck it, took it apart. My wife had a 500$ new dryer in the cart as I got it fixed. For $20… all it needed was a new heating element.
Had that with my Samsung, heating element lasted 6 weeks, next one lasted 3 loads.....I got a new one after a phone call with a couple appliance repair guys
Dude, when I tell you that I’ve learned so much from you 😂 I mean it!! I keep that washer and dryer in check! And I purchased those tabs to clean the washer, and a soft brush to clean the vents. I feel like a whole pro over here 😂

Took apart my newer GE dryer a few months ago to figure out why it’s not heating and found what I thought was a limit that was open and replaced it and is still not working lol. Vent is clean. I don’t use dryer sheets or softener. Good part is my 2 and a half year old loves trips to the laundromat haha
Active washer tablets work really well, my washer was leaving a mildew smell on my clothes. I used 2 tablets the first time just cause it was really bad smell, now no more smell 😊
I have a sanitary cycle on my washer that uses super hot water. I throw in a cup of bleach and run a cycle. I also run a secondary rinse cycle afterwards. Before I do that though, I manually clean the rubber gasket that surrounds the drum. You can’t believe how cruddy that can get!
@crazywarp36 I use the sanitize/tub cleaning option with the tablet. My machine has sanitize and tub clean labeled as the same thing. Sanitize means it'll use hot enough temps to kill most other things. It's different from heavy load

Best way to make sure it's really clean, use those tablets..run the washer until its full of water and let it sit overnight to soak all that gunk...THEN, run it from start to finish...Soaking helps loosen every little bit! And he's right about those tablets...I fix these washers too..

Those tablets you get sponsored for (shoot probably even own a bit of it)… Only TEMPORARY work. That smell comes back and the tablets don’t take off all of the inside gunk out.

In place of the washer tablets you can use dishwasher tablets and those work much the same way that included the pods with the dry powder and that is because they are similar or the same in the cases of the cheap ones. However, dishwasher fluid, the gel stuff, does not work the same way so do not use that. I run a washer pod every time it asks for a self clean, and if I happened to be out I use a dishwasher pod. Honestly, the washer pods are often less expensive so good either way.
American top down washers are so strange. Just get a classic side door british washer, bottom right is a little filter you just take out, rinse, put back in, bam, keeping it clean.

But then again, someone that lets someone else permanently disfigure and mutilate them isn't credible when it comes to judgment. Grotesquely nauseating and very unprofessional.

Bleach doesn't kill mold so using the tablet is better

Yeah it's really hard to get that bottom horse plate out of there I had to use a 2x4 and two ratchet straps to pull mine off

I'd suggest a nut on each side of the foot plate and lock washer(s)
