  • We booked a train through the train station’s website the night before this day trip. From Gara du Nord in Bucharest the train took us to Brasov and from there we bussed/walked to Autogara 2 Transbus Codreanu (we took the 40 and walked 1.4km, but there are other options- in total it’s about 3-4km). It doesn’t look like a bus station but if you go through the gate on Strada Avram Iancu you’ll see more of the busses and stops. At this bus station, we went to terminal 2 and got on the bus (it had a sign that showed which towns it was going to and Bran was one of them).
What we understood from the driver was that it comes once an hour until 17:40 on the other side of the road (the stop is next to the place that sells fast food and drinks).
As for Bran castle, it was really cool to see. The site opens at 12 so don’t be late and definitely book online. In the video you can see how long the line was at 13:30. The line was all the way down the hill to the entrance and it was barely moving. We got stuck with a really mean tour group when we went which was unfortunate but at least we saw the castle. There was so much to see in the castle but we found that the whole line of people visiting was moving really fast through it. We only spent about an hour inside. I would definitely recommend going in the off season. I would also recommend spending a night in Brasov if you want to see both Bran and Brasov. We spent almost 6 hours getting to Bran and the same amount of time going back to Bucharest, so if you’d like to see more sites and try out restaurants and stuff keep that in mind.
